No, we do have a far left in the US, and an example is the Weathermen. In the late 60's and 70's they were hard revolutionaries intent on killing political leaders and members of the military. Unrepentant Weatherman bomber William Ayers and Weatherman wife Bernardine Dohrn are big 'Bama supporters. And they're just sorry they weren't able to bomb and kill more. They were the ones supporting the North Vietnamese and would have been perfectly satisfied to know the NVs were torturing John McCain and scores of other US POWs.* To this day they think the NV were absolutely justified to have tortured and murdered the POWs they did. Ayers and Dorhrn regret nothing and are still committed to the overthrow of the US gov't so it can be supplanted by a Marxist-Leninist dictatorship.

Now what is it about Obama that these committed and unrepentant bomber-revolutionaries like so much? Well think about this: do you really believe hardcore and lifelong violent revolutionaries like Ayers and Dohrn would tolerate "moderates" or "centrists" (or even liberals for that matter) as friends? No way. They liked and agreed with the way Obama thought when they were younger, just as Obama liked and agreed with them. They're not supporting him today because they think he will be a "moderate" - they're supporting Obama because they know he won't be a moderate.

Obama's past has been intentionally glossed over or ignored completely by the mainstream media. To investigate it would destroy his carefully crafted facade, and they're not going to do it.

You really think Obama is going to change how politics works in Washington?

Man, the only thing that will happen if Obama tries that is that he won't be able to pass anything at all.

The President is not a dictator, in order for him to pass anything into law he needs to convince at least 50 senators and 218 representatives to agree with him. And a lot of these powerful guys have been in congress since before Obama was born and don't intend to change the way they do things just to please some hotshot young former senator from Illinois.

Face it, Obama can either work with the system and get stuff done or he can fight the system and not get anything done, and then lose his re-election bid.

Guess which one he'll pick?

Question is, if he cant who can? i thought he ran for president cause he as a lawyer wasnt able to change things for the good on his own. if you cant take obamas word then you cant take anyones word about anything. Whats so impossible for example to not take money from lobbyists? he is doing it right now, its not rocket science.

Not able bypass congress or whatever to change something? do i really have to write down everything bush was able to do without congress support the past 8 years or all the things congress didnt even know about?
or how many vetos he passed to everything he didnt like that came out of congress ?

I cant predict the future and neither can you, so these what if discussions really are void.

Anyone still trying to say obama is only hope and change?

HE can do it, but that doesn't mean 535 other people are going to follow his example.

Bush was able to do very little without congressional support. For example, in 2005 he was spearheading an initiative to fix our broken social security system. Congress shot down every idea he had. Other Bush plans shot down by congress include banning gay marriage and nominating Harriet Meyers to the Supreme Court.

Bush has vetoed fewer bills than any other president since Warren Harding (who was president for only 2 years, 1921-23). In fact, Bush has vetoed fewer bills than any other 2-term president in American history since James Monroe (1817-1825). In fact, in his first term Bush did not veto a single thing.

Bush has vetoed only 12 bills, and 4 of these were passed over his head by a 60% super-majority in both houses of congress.

so funny isnt it stylie.

So there are no mistakes, my point is that his word is equal to anyone elses till proven wrong, not that he is the most trustworthy guy in the world.Cause if you dont believe anything he says why do you believe someone else more?

Also raptor trying to nitpick and playing gotcha on everything i wrote doesnt make you look better then anyone else, if you dont get the point of me writing something then do not bother to respond and look smart.

My point that he did bypass congress mutliple times, that he did veto multiple times, i dont care if it was more or less then anyone else, i take him as example as to me he is the worst example while still widely popular even on this forum,in contrast against Obama who you are trying tell me wont be able to change politics on his own, what about changing politics is so unrealistic ? OH WAIT you probably dont know cause while claiminig all he talks about is change i can tell you what the changes are, can you ?

OK OK, these political rants lately are full of head scratching comments. I am guilty of that too, I'll admit it!

Umm...if you don't like being wrong than don't be wrong, don't complain about me telling you that you are wrong...

Real change begins with the voters, not the politicians who promise the sky and inevitably can't deliver because they can't convince those 535 other guys to go along with them.

I find it interesting that Obama's biggest fans on these boards are people who can't actually vote for him.

Jumjum, your conspirative theories are really funny, like Area 51, Elvis and Morrison are alive, etc, keep talking please.

You know perfectly what I mean, democrats are center or even center-right from a realistic point of view about polithics, Obama will not offer your country to the bolcheviKs, breathe.

And I can't care less if Charles Manson likes Obama, it means crap and is just one of your fear tales for the Halloween campfires, old chap.
