No, you're actually wrong. I know your attitude reflects leftist holy writ, but Fox is what a network looks like when it's trying to be evenhanded.

I find this truly amazing. The NYT is in desperate financial straits. In less than a decade "Pinch" Sulzberger, the boss's son, who was a typical rich-kid 60's radical who never met a revolutionary he didn't slobber over, has almost totally ruined the greatest newspaper in America. He did it by naked partisanship like that displayed in the decision not to allow McCain an editorial. To be accurate, the Times would have let him post, but they didn't like what McCain wrote - they wanted him to respond directly to Obama's earlier editorial, and McCain didn't want to. It's little different form an outright refusal.

Here's the test for whether the NYT's refusal to run McCain's editorial is an outrageous abuse: What would have happened if some paper or network had refused to run Obama's editorial after McCain had done his? If you have a shred of intellectual honesty you have to admit that blood would run in the gutters. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would have threatening year-long investigations to begin immediately; Kerry, Dodd and Biden would sponsor legislation to punish the offending organ. Bill Maher would bleed from the eyes and demand the killing begin. Oliver Stone would have a movie out in 90 days tilted How The Nazis Came To Run A Newspaper - The Absolutely Not Made Up At All Real Truthy True History Of A Racist Newspaper. Commenters on The Daily Kos, TalkLeft, Huffinton Post, et al. would have made even more death threats to Bush and conservatives in general (I know that's hard to imagine, but not every commenter makes some kind of bloodcurdling threat - it just seems like it).

It gets worse though. Not only has the NYT stopped even pretending that its not 100% in the bag for Obama, but now Obama feels he owns the press so much that he can muzzle reporters or magazines he thinks haven't sucked hard enough - he kicked the New Yorker's reporter, Ryan Lizza, off his Middle East plane trip: In satirical payback, Obama camp denies New Yorker writer plane seat | Top of the Ticket | Los Angeles Times
You remember that the NYer had the satirical cover of Obama in turban and Michelle as a revolutionary to illustrate a story about how conservatives view him. This one just might boomerang on Obama: even the media, of which the 3 major network anchors followed Obama to the Middel East, doesn't like huge ego, especially when the huge ego tries to embarrass one of the "good guy" media members ( read as "reliably liberal"). Look for some flak out of this,

And you?, any sensible critic against the Obama's plans or will you be happy with the already old jokes and variations about the theme "Hope and Change" (two nice words, btw, and the second one is speaking loudly about the Obama's plans: you see Bush's polithic?, ok, let's do thing totally the oposite, ergo right -----> Change).

Considering some of the few Obama policy proposals and votes have been to both continue and expand policies of the Bush administration (wiretapping, government funding for faith based initiatives), I tend to doubt Obama's promises of "change".

How about some serious plans and not just the "hope and change" speech from him? Exactly the opposite of Bush is no solution. We don't need Obama to cut the military budget (slicing key modernization programs), abandon Iraq, and doing whatever the crazy atheistic environmentalist far left wants.

Despite Obama's acting and claims from his supporters he is bordering on the scary crazy kind of liberal which is exactly what we don't need.

Hmm here's some more insight: Poll: Half of U.S. says press pro-Obama - Alexander Burns - Politico.com

Quote:
Half of Americans think the press is trying to help Sen. Barack Obama win the presidential election, according to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports.

In an automated survey of 1000 likely voters, Rasmussen found that 49 percent of respondents believed reporters would favor Obama in their coverage this fall, compared with just 14 percent who expected them to boost Sen. John McCain. The number of Americans who see pro-Obama bias in the press has increased by five percent in the last month.

According to Rasmussen’s numbers, less than a quarter of voters – 24 percent – now trust the press to report on the election without bias.

...

It’s not just the general election that’s bringing out voters’ concerns that the media might be supporting Obama. Asked a backward-looking question, about which “major presidential candidate” – Obama, McCain, or Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton – had received the most favorable coverage overall, 57 percent said it was Obama. Twenty-one percent of respondents named McCain, with 11 percent choosing Clinton.

This result follows similar polling data that emerged during the Democratic primaries. A Pew survey conducted from May 30-June 2 showed 37 percent of Americans felt that Obama received preferential treatment from reporters during the Democratic primary contests. Only eight percent of respondents in that poll said the press favored Clinton.

You should watch the Daily Show and Colbert report from last night (Monday) both make a joke about the media's lust for Obama. For once Raptor, I do agree, granted I want him to win. But there is a sense of OMG so like Obama is in Iraq doing stuff, oh and I guess Mccain had a financial thing, or something.

Well said. It appears I was too hasty at snapping at Master Lampshade in another thread. My apologies.

well, that's highly arguable, for some of us Iraq was and is a mistake, wich only solution will be to withdraw with common sense sooner or later.

And sorry, but you have not far left in America, you even haven't left, so please...let's stay in the boundaries of rationality and not in fantasy.

Well i dont know why i bother to respond sometimes since i have to rewrite previous answers dozens of times it seems, do some of you read this thread?or just skip to the end to give your opinion?

If you think Obama has no policies, if you think he only talks about hope and change, or at least do your best to make it seem that way to make fun of it, the internet is a great way to inform yourself.

Welcome to Obama for America his official site for the policies

YouTube - BarackObamadotcom's Videos

The official obama youtube channel, with a ton of speeches, you can go down the list of the past 4 months and link me all those speeches where he only speaks of change and hope, good luck. And while watching you might pickup his stance on recent issues, dont be afraid to be informed.

YouTube - JohnMcCaindotcom's Videos

McCain his youtube channel, oh boy i thought obama has no policies? McCain his policy seems to be hate ads on obama and ads about NEVER SURRENDER in iraq, i figured since he plans to run a country he might have something more constructive in mind, cause the taliban wont give up cause of hate ads

Oh Obama is in line with 3 thing of bush? damn i thought "change" stood for how politics works in washington, not changing every single thing the current administration ever did ( still that would make 3 out of what , triplle kazillion ? )
