All I remember from the time was that Mengele's remains had finally been identified - no one at the time had any idea about cause of death. Wiki says he drowned after suffering a stroke while swimming, but I'm unsure.

The hung one you're thinking about was Adolph Eichmann. Mossad agents kidnapped Eichmann in Argentina ca. 1960, and spirited him to Israel where he was put on trial, convicted and eventually hung. Heh. Kidnapped by Mossad agents and takent to Israel to answer for your actions during the war - an old nazi's greatest fear.

<_< I'm probably the only person who thinks that the top nazi leaders shouldn't of had been killed. Tried? sure. Not killed. Their knowledge is far too useful to just go to waste.

Knowledge? I am sorry but while there were very capable Germans under the Nazi regime, the top brass were remarkably incompetent. The lower level and intelligent one WERE spirited away to the US and the USSR.

Anyways there crimes were so monstrous they could not possibly have any stay of execution.

Well, the Brandemburg Tor was used as a airstrip when the germans has lost the Berlin Airport

theres a starnge report, about a Storch who landed on the Brandemburg Tor street,the plane was hit by a russian AA gun, the pilot was the famous german pilot (Who fly a german helicopter), and the passenger a luftwaffe commander

but, the plane was on berlin, as a (Unknown) person say, the Fi Stor take off from berlin, who was inside,... who knowns, maybe, hitler scaped to Swiss, neutral to germany, or german Dennmark or german Norway

The plane was shooted by soviet soldier, the used every weapon for take the plane down, to heavy guns, like DP's to Pistols..

im wanna known who was inside of that plane, or maybe,, the plast film of hitler, was hes last time at berlin, maybe he scaped from berlin, only the people of the bunker, eva and hitler knwons the truth behind this misterius war

General Robert Ritter von Greim and flying ace Hanna Reitsch were the people in the Storch. Greim received injuries to his leg from being shot at by the Russians but both made it into Hitler's Berlin bunker alive. Hanna Reitsch survived the war and won many medals for flying. Greim killed himself after being captured by American soldiers and out of fear of his being sent to a Russia POW camp. He took potassium cyanide, his last words were 'I am general of the luftwaffe, but i have no luftwaffe'.

He first went on vacation to Argentina but in 1959 Josef desided to move to Brazil. Where he died in his SWIMMINGPOOL after a heartattack. That was 1979.
Not all nazi's got their punishment.
