Many people think he went to South America. Lobo, it is your duty to go find him. You are the only one that can do it.
They found his skeleton, and with DNA have proven it as his.
Yes. In 1972 his remains were found at the above-ground Lehrter subway station, noted on the map below. This is consistent with the testimony of Hitler Youth head Artur Axmann who broke out with Bormann and several other bunker personnel late on night of May 1st.
They linked up with SS Brigadier Monnke's troops for the mass breakout across the Spree at the Weidendammer Bridge (marked on map) using Berlin's last remaining tanks and Hanomags. It was a slaughter. Axmann said he, Bormann and Dr. Stumpfegger (Hitler's last Dr. Feelgood), were in soldiers' uniforms and were next to a tank which was hit by a handheld AT weapon, after which they split up. He retraced his steps later and found both Bormann and Stumpfegger dead where Bormann's remains were found in 1972.
Yea Borman died trying to sneak out of Berlin. Not as ironic as I would like, but not bad.
What bugs me is that Speer charmed his way out of the gallows and into a light sentence. Goering was the only other high level Nazi they caught, and only because he was so drugged at that point he couldn't kill himself. Ironically in prison Goering got clean, and for the trial, was his old self again. He was actually able to mount a spirited defence at Nuremberg.
what happened to Mengele, the "doctor" who did "medical" experiments at Auschwitz?
He died in South America. My memory isn't too clear on this, but I think he died from either a heart attack while swimming, or he smashed his head against a rock by accident.
The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.
