Katyn movie, released

Well first movie in history about Katyn massacre was finally made, here in Poland.

I haven't seen it yet but everytime i read in the news or from friends, they say that after movie ends, there's complete silence, nobody moves or makes a sound until last "staff" letters are gone and even longer, some are crying some are speechless, i wanna see it!!! damn Ireland!. I wonder how people from other nations will react, probably not so deeply.

Damn non-Polish speaking Ireland! But seriously though, it looks like a great film, even if it won't affect me in the way it affects Poles.

For many tears the Soviet Union claimed that Katyn was committed by the Nazis - I'm not sure if the USSR ever admitted it was responsible for Katyn. Many in the US believed the Soviets; and there were a good many Soviet supporters in the US who spouted the Party line for years. Just like with Alger Hiss.

Poor Poland - there was no rescue for her. Although the Reds kicked out the Germans, they continued many of the Nazis' brutal policies of extermination. The Western Allies had a good idea of what the Soviets were doing to the Poles during the war, and they certainly knew afterwards. The postwar western allies turned a blind eye and let Stalin devour not only Poland but half of Europe.

I would love to see the movie.

There needs to be more movies on Communist Russia under Stalin, period. At least, to counterbalance all the movies about the Nazis so that people can put things into perspective. Hell, better throw in Mao as well, I guess. ALso, no, I will not stop pushing this! :P

I had enough of all the movies showing 'werewolf nazis'. Very touching film, I wonder does it arrive to here? Damn Soviets.
