The trailer looks very good and I have seen some good clips on youtube, unfortunately I'll be depanded on my family and a eventual dvd release of the movie since I currently don't have the time to visit my family or see this movie in the cinema's in Poland.
i got a friend.. my friend's grandftaher and grandmother was civilians kids during 1939 / 1941 / 1942 and they live in poland
one day.. the family send they sons to a forest to pick up food..
on the forest.. there was a little german military outpost
My friend grandfathers hear a "Agtchung" the germans start to shoot those kids.. whit K98 and those weapons
from 7 kids.. he was the only survivor.. he telled me that
They lived on a village from 1939 to 1941 when the war angaits the communism start
the leave the village in 1941 and they start a new life on other village on 1942 to 1945
when the russians come to the village.. the grandmother say.. "on the street of my house.. theres was german cannons, those cannons never stop shooting"
she was on her house.. whit his family, on they shelter whit some friends
alittle kid leave the house when 4 german tanks was on the house door.. , the kid open the door and walked to the tank.. and he looked the gunner
and the father told him "stop, dont"
after 5 days... they didnt hear any shot.. but.. when the family leave the bulding.. there was the cannon.. active, a tank, and a group of soldiers.. they remember.. the soldiers have black uniform.. they are germans
they leave the village when the russians attacked for 2 time.. and they come back when the russians captured the village
a very confusing history.. i cant remember all they say.. and my english sucks
trust me.. this is a real history
i will talk whuit them another time... for upgrade this
if you dont trhust me... my friend name is... Ezequiel Karas
...even if it won't affect me in the way it affects Poles.
Same goes for the rest of the people which don't know much about pre and after war Poland....or viewer's that don't like watching non action war movie's(You wont see even one, single shooting scene a'la "Shaving Private Ryan",no crap "Rambo" style....just almost clean, dry fact's).
When I started watching that movie,I was like:"Let's get ready for another propaganda boring movie".....but when the film was over-it was more like: "WTF!?!!"....and that silence just after the showing.....unbelievable....whole trip back to home i was thinking.......thinking deeply(thing that I don't do often).
Anyway. Was the film worth watching? For me absolutely(despite the fact-that dislike some of the actor's).Even if some might don't understand/like it-IMHO one of the best movies made last years,by Polish cinematography. So go watch it(if You will have a chance)and write some opinions about it here.I love reading those .

They did, back in early 90'ties....but now they seems to forgetting again(if i can recall correctly-about 100 from 180/190 files about that massacre are still "TOP SECRET"...and will be for next 50/100 year's)...I've got serious doubts, about living long enough to witness the moment of unsealing of those paper's(We most probably got still couple of living "trigger's" of those day's....and they are/were mostly important person's in USSR/Russia).

I do know the similar story. But this one is from my grandfather(who was about 14/15 year's old those time's):
There was a guy, that lived in my grandfather's village(no-he was no insurgent/partisan)....one day he went to the wood's,for the wood.
1st German patrol he meet on his road had German of Polish Origins-he warned him in polish:"If you go any further-next patrol will shoot first, than ask question's".But the guy didn't listened to warning's...so he went further.About 1 or 2 km from 1st encounter,2nd German patrol shot him.(German's were afraid of people aiding partisan's...so it was HIGHLY risky wandering,by yourself into the wood's)
Russian's were no much better.Especially when they found a weapon in your house...or your family member was an AK/BCH(Peasant's Battalion's-many of it's member's joined AK later)member.
We got a saying here, which goes like this:"We were saved by ally of our allies."

I finished reading a magnificient book from General Anders ,polish title is "Wladyslaw Anders - without the last chapter - memories of 1939-1946", i believe this is the english version - " An Army in Exile: The Story of the Second Polish Corps" Amazon.com: An Army in Exile: The Story of the Second Polish Corps (Allied Forces Series): Books: Wladyslaw Anders
there's all You want to know about relations between allie generals and Polish army and about relations between allie politicians and Polish generals/army.
There are quotes of letters, documents, and what is the most exciting, quotes of talks between Polish generals and Soviets -Stalin, Molotov etc. You can read exactly how it was.Thing i noticed after reading it is, Allie generals like Alexander or MArk Clark and some others were full of friendship and kind words towards Polish army, but british and american politicians, well, they betrayed and broken all trities, agreements with Poland.Read it and You'll know all of this.General Anders knew soviets very well, he spent many months in soviet prisons, he knew all about soviet politics, althought allie leaders didn't want to believe him, they choosed to believe soviets, Stalin. Well You all know how it ended up.Most of Europe enslaved, Cold war etc.
P.S. for me the nicest part was reading all letters and recomendations from Allie generals like Alexander, Clark, and some more, about how great Polish soldiers are and how good they fight hehehe ;p
Baptised in fire 40 to 1
Spirit of spartans death and glory
Soldiers of Poland seckond to none
Wrath of the wehrmacht brought to a halt
About 2 million Pole's emigrated to British Isle's,in the last 3 year's.It's the biggest migration wave in the post-war time's(so I'm asking...WTF!?"If things are so good, why are they so bad.Theres a reason why people leaving this friggin country, but thats the subject for another thread .
Anyway. Here's one of my favorite WW2 quotes, about Poland:
"Ethiopians will be there,Mexicans will be there. The Fiji Medical Corps, the Labuan Police and the Seychelles Pioneer Corps will--and rightly, too. But the Poles will not be there. Have we lost not only our sense of perspective, but our sense of gratitude as well?"
End of Off topic

Did he, who made the lamb, made thee?"
