MOH Airborne DEMO/ BIOSHOCK DEMO Did you try these guys? I downloaded both but tried only MOH:AB for now. Well it plays really strange like i dunno, little chaotic but that's what airborne fight looked like, they were not S.A.S :) Actually my CPU sux big time in this game. You need really good graphic card, my 2GB of DDR RAM don't help much. It plays a little like COD, i was shot many times, and i shot many, well You know this kind of games. At least they've put there Physic Ageia system.I must try it more. As for Bioshock i didn't tried this yet but i bet it's a great game. |
Bioshock needs a massively good PC. Mainly GPU for Shaders 3.0. It's a shame but I'll have to wait until I upgrade to play it. As for the Airborne demo, I was disappointed. Gameplay felt a little stodgy, reloading a Kar98k one bullet at a time (what the hell, EA), including the Italians but giving them German weapons (lazy nonsense) and overall unfulfilling. I might buy it for multiplayer. |
Both run great for me performance wise. MoH:AB is ok, but like COD still pretty linear even with the jump anywhere thing. I think its because the map areas still arent so big. But its fun for what it is none the less :) I'll probably buy it. Bioshock graphically is cutting edge, but the storyline is weird. I just dont find it makes any sense, so that really detracts from the immersion aspect. Its like some weird alice in wonderland + 20,000 leagues under the sea type scenerio. Even the start of the game is weird, you're in a plane crash way out at sea, but there's this weird entrance sticking out of the water out in the middle of the ocean, right there for you to swim to.. And it happens to be the entrance to some bizarre underwater city created by a madman millionaire. The whole little girl with weird protective robot deal is really bizarre also. And the flipped out crazies with masks and party hats...The whole thing is just weird..lol Graphically as good as it looks, i probably wont buy it. |
Bioshock demo is excellent, I played it with good, but mostly over a year old hardware and run everyhting on highest settings at 1024x768, so I don't think the requirements are all that high. I already purchased it on Steam too, but I also ordered new insides for my PC as I thought time for an upgrade was right anyway. Hence in the end I'll have a look at it in highest settings in dx10 rendering path. As for the game itself, I think its storyline may be very good simply because it's quite different from most of the stuff we see in other games, well, atleast its setting is. There's a very nice mistery to it, I can only hope it won't be concluded with some simple idea. As for the new MoH, I'll have to try it, but I have a feeling it's not going to be anything special realy. |
Both are good games but why doesn't Bioshock have a MP ? |
Tried playing MOH and it wouldnt even let me load it up....said my graphics card wasnt supported  I'm not even touching Bioshock..... |

Oh man, Bioshock is amazing. I'm in the gardens now, not that far, but it's pretty much one of the best games I've played in recent years. I love the story, love the setting, and love the plasmids you get. |
Quote:
From what I saw so far, it's strongly narrative oriented sp game with lots of scripts and more exploration than fighting. I'm not sure if cooperative would work well in such setting, otherwise we'd have co-ops for lots of other sp games to this date, and yet the last one I remember is Quake II. |
Both are great games especially bioshock which is very detailed and very 30s. Bioshock is linear at the beginning because it is supposed to be a tutorial before the player really play bioshock My only complain is about the ai of medal of honor : even if the level of ai can be change , the bots are always at the same place always look in this direction which destroy the "new map each jump). otherwise the upgrade of the weapons are fun (sometimes stupid like the mauser reloading bullet per bullet) but i miss the time of MOH when you shoot a enemy in the chest and he was slowed. in moha, the guys doesn't feels the bullet ... |
I think that generaly MoH serie enemies' animations were going downhill since after Medal of Honor: Underground for PlayStation. The first game had so many triggered behaviours and animations (chase dogs fetching grenades were awesome =D), it was realy amazing for its time. |
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. One of the Best.Games.Evar |
Aside from Omaha assault and a couple of more cleverly designed infiltrator-missions it was a peace of trash in comparison to the two earlier games on the console. |
Yes, but as BIA fanboy your credibility = zero :P Mohaa, RTCW, CoD2 and FH --- > best games ever  |
Im actually liking the moha:ab demo alot, the graphics are very good. The weapons are nice and deadly. It is still a bit linear, but no game will ever get away from that. Theres an Ai patch out for the demo, turning the easy Italians into Elite SS. Makes it way harder! I highly recommend it. Ill be interested in what kind of MP there is, if any..Ill be buying this for sure its fun. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ive tried the Bioshock demo several times now, trying to like it because of the great graphics and new features. But i just cant get into the story...Its just not believable at all, story wise... It has to be possible somehow for me to get into it, but i cant make sense of it at all. The only thing that could make sense is "you're dead" and decending into hell or something. |

Anyways i wont be trying these games just because of my old computer. |
It requires a tad bit of suspension of belief, but it's not as far out as some other games. It's kind of cool actually, to see an almost fascistic utopia (a la ayn rand and the classic, philosophical fascism) after the fall. You see all the science and technology that the society had striven for turned against them, destroying their humanity. Its influences are a lot more philosophical than most other FPS, drawing heavily from dystopian and fascist thought, with a fair helping of twists and turns to mutate into something hideous. It's really not as far out there as say, Half Life 2, where the world is invaded by aliens or something and then some zombies show up and a white Erkel has to save the world. Story has become an integral part of games these days, especially FPSes. And as more games get made, and more people grow up with games, the natural progression is for the medium to become more complex, in its programming, mechanics, and other aspects, including story. I like the way the story is told. You as a player really have no idea what is going on, much like your character on screen. Literally, you were dropped from the sky into this underwater utopia, and now you're fighting monsters. Through audio diaries and your unshrugging friend Atlas (the symbolism of this name is punching you in the face), you are filled in on what has happened and what you need to be doing. |
Who cares about Airborne and Bioshock......World in Conflict! |
I dont like world in conflict at all, its just a big spam fest. It does have lots of cool explosions, but thats about it. CoH is 10,000 times better, the best rts ive ever played. |
I agree actually. COH is amazing, lanned it with my buddies for hours back when it came out. It just needs the Pacific theatre. =D |
Theres an expansion pack coming out soon, its in beta right now. Its not the pacific though unfortunately. Panzer elite or something its called. |
The expansion is called Opposing Fronts, and there are two campaigns- One for each side. The British battle for Caen and the German Panzer elite in Holland. So those are the two new armies, Britain and Panzer Elite. (The current German army in the game is more along the lines of the Wemacht while Panzer Elite is more like SS. I look forward to lanning with the new armies cause my friend will love Britain, because they are defensive/mobility focused. The Panzer Elite is about vehicles, they get units like Jagdpanther. The developers also said they would like to make an all-encompasing WW2 game, so you will soon see most theaters converted to their game. I am looking forward to the Expansion for the new armies and lanning, and at the opportunity of playing the Germans in campaign. (lol I got a bit carried away about explaining the xpack) |
Eh its a great game, its not that hard to get carried away talking about how good it is. :D |
I finally got to pre-ordering it! (Demo pwns) |

I agree with other games you listed, but certainly not CoD2, comon, even the first game was better than that! I'd say something about your credibility, but other than being a mod leader at your own will, I can't quite find anything I could pick on.=D Quote:
However I have similar feelings to BadSeed when it comes to RPGs, neverthless I loved Black Isle for its style and games they made and how high this particular game was rated, I found myself unable to get into the world presented in Planscape - Torment. Oh, and Yoss, you know Half-Life is more than that. |
What blew Bioshock for me was the crash in the ocean, and that entrance just happening to be right there, but out in the middle of no where.. And you just happen to crash next to it. And why is it there advertising anyway. Its suppose to be a secret underwater city. That entrance would be spotted on radar..You can pick up row boats with radar. And then, it just so happens to have a sphere to take you down! Like its been sitting there waiting for a plane crash and one survivor....Sorry its just too much of a leap. I cant help it, stuff that doesnt make sense like that, drives me nuts. Half life as fantastic a story as it was, had a plausable logical aspect to it. Bioshock doesnt, and thats why i dont like it. edit: Im kinda finding Moha:AB alittle COD2 like in the AI department. Now that ive played it a few times. Which is making it less appealing. The friendlies do nearly nothing, except running around in your way. So like COD2 you have to do it all, mostly. They kill maybe 10% of the enemy if your lucky. And the enemy seems to mostly shoot at you, and ignores all your useless teammates aswell. Just like COD2 was... So im not so sure about this one either. COD2 got old really fast for me. |
I don't know, I somehow managed to not look for any logic in Bioshock at all, and the beginning appeared somewhat magicall and very misterious for me, like some greater power would have control over these events. It felt like the Rapture wanted me to go down there and see it. |
I am Very mad and confused with the Call Of Duty Series. Great games and im sure COD4 will be amazing, but i dont think they ever did the pacific campaign. WTF!!! why skip right to Modern Warfare when almost all of the other games these days do that. |
Moh:aa was great, it's CKR realism mod made me look for a realism mod for Battlefield 1942 ;). Moh:a on the other hand, judging by playing the demo for some minutes before getting bored, has a bit too much "features" in it; too much effects, flashes and whatnot when you run or get hit. Maybe it's just me not having played these recent callofduties and brothersinarms' About the AI, I can only agree with RBS; I realized only after installing that the demo is SP... |
Well I just got done playing MoH:A and I have to say I found it to be boring. Even with the whole paradrop thing. I mean...how many times has the Normandy invasion been done? It just gets boring after a while. |
Quote:
The game has its shortcomings, but its story and atmosphere more then make up for where it's lacking, if you're willing to let the game pull you into it. |
 I havent never watched Lost. Just dont like it. |
Haha, good point, but I belive Bioshock is quite different in its plot-core.:p |
as to the MOH:AB, i don't get one thing. How many of You heard about 82nd guys paradroping with K98 or MP40?? because that's what EA is telling us through this game ;p Ageia physix won't save it.This game is just TDM with bots. |

An artical from Tom's Hardware website. It's been about a week since BioShock's launch, and the digital rights management controversy surrounding the game shows little signs of abating. BioShock had received considerable hype and overwhelming positive reviews (including my own), but the game has been mired in an uproar regarding the game's installation policy, which initially limited each customer to two installations only through SecuROM's copy protection software. The trouble started almost immediately after BioShock release on Aug. 21. Word began circulating through various forums about technical issues with the game's installation; specifically, many users who had run into issues with playing the game, whether it was Window Vista related issues or graphics drivers, un-installed BioShock and then re-installed it on other machines. They were then greeted with an unfortunate message that read: "Too many activations on different PCs have been performed with the entered SERIAL NUMBER. No further activations are allowed." The message also included an e-mail address for SecuROM support (support@securom.com). http://images.tomshardware.com/2007/...ioshockdrm.jpg Here's what PC gamers got when they tried to install BioShock more than twice last week. Unfortunately, the message didn't say exactly how many installations each user was supposed to get (which, again, was two installs initially). Furthermore, the game's software license agreement that said nothing about an installation limit for the game; in fact, the license agreement grants users the "limited right and license to use one copy of the Software for your personal use on a single console," which have led some people to contend that the SecuROM copy protection is violating BioShock's own software license (since it says nothing about installing the game and says you can run it on one system at a time). Whatever the case, it's a statement of fact that customers were given little to no warning about a DRM-controlled limit regarding the number of installations allowed for BioShock. Soon, posts were popping up on 2K Games' forums in a thread title "How many installs do we get? Transfer of ownership?" inquiring about the SecuROM DRM and installation limit. The next morning on Wednesday, Aug. 22, Elizabeth Tobey, community manager at 2K Games, responded to the queries on the forums with the following message: "Hey guys, first, let me say this. You DO NOT NEED TO USE THE INTERNET EVERY TIME YOU PLAY THIS GAME. It is only the first time. Second, you can uninstall and reinstall this game, and if, by chance, you have 2 computers you want to simultaneously play this game on, you also can do that. If by some chance you are reinstalling this game without uninstalling it first, a lot, there is a chance you may have to call SecuROM and get a key, or deactivate some older installations. But if you upgrade your hardware next week, you'll still be able to play the game. If you revamp your system and need to reinstall Bioshock, just uninstall it before you go through the overhaul, and then do your reinstall. Calling it "hardware fingerprinting" is a bit alarmist. We do not transmit any of your data to any companies. Really, the only people who will be concerned about any of these security measures are those who are rapidly putting Bioshock on many PCs... if you use the game as you normally do, you won't notice this at all." Sadly, the information in Tobey's post was not entirely accurate. As many gamers found out, simply uninstalling the game on a machine did not solve the SecuROM problem. We put the theory to the test here at the THG lab and discovered that, in fact, once you installed the game on two separate machines (computer A and computer B), regardless of the reason, the activation key became useless. If you uninstalled the game on computer A and wanted to install on computer C, the activation would be terminated by SecuROM (which is owned by Sony) and the above error message would pop up. As a result, BioShock customers were misinformed, which made matters worse. And as 2K Games discovered, the problem would get significantly worse. Compounding the DRM controversy even more was the fact that the support numbers for 2K Games listed in BioShock's packaging were incorrectly printed (we called the support lines ourselves here at the Tom's Hardware Guide office several times before finally giving up). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man how lame is this, i knew this game sucked. I just had a bad feeling about it from the very first. Anyway hope you guys dont ever need to reinstall or anything... And this company 2K Games goes on my no buy from them, list.. I wont ever support lame ass crap like this, they've permanently lost a customer. Hope they enjoy getting flamed from here on in, morons. |
That's quite silly indeed, they should have made it apparent that you have to uninstall Bioshock before formating an HDD. Same about number of allowed active registerations. Other than that though, it's quite tiresome to read about it missinterpreted on number of forums over and over again, as people find it more convinient to assume the absurd version where each key has only two life-time activations. Oh, and I have no problems with running Bioshock on Vista. |

Read the last part allen, it says clearly that it doesnt work, uninstalling first. You get 2 installs and thats it, period. Everyone who's tries to install it more that twice gets that message, whether they followed the instructions or not... Im sure you will find this out yourself. And who the hell wants to reformat their HD to reinstall a game. edit: Yes in MoHa:AB, you can pick german weapons if you want them, during the pick loadout phase. |
Oh, sorry, I didn't notice the last part and presumed it was the rest of Elizabeth Tobey's reply which I did read before, so I just skipped it. Well, in that case, I agree, it's totaly silly and kind of suicide on distributor side. Anyway though, I don't have the retail version so I don't know, it is confirmed that Steam version is fine, you simply have to uninstall it first in case you'd want to wipe your HDD clean. And trust me, there were people who decided to try formating their disks in hope of fixing the problem. |
Before You begin the mission You have weapon selection screen. You can pick K98 and Mp40 and start with them, or was it my imagination????(i am not talking about weapons You can find on the ground). |

Wellmm... unless it's not a start of after-drop mission, it's a rather silly thing. |
Is that demo mission the first one in the game or are there more before that mission? If not then the army(brits or yanks) probably took it along from a previous mission and added it into the arsenal and you can use it. :lookaround: |
one more thing, don't count BIA as down and out. they have a new one coming out about market garden, scheduled to come out winter this year or early next year look at pts 1+2 of the 13min trailer and the Ubidays presentation, it's gonna be amazing. YouTube - Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway - Ubisoft day presentation= |
Yeah, this year's E3 presentation of BiA was incredible, I just don't bother much about waiting for it, this way when I get a chance to play it, it may be more enjoyable. |
