| Nightmare, first off, megadildos... I mean megadittos to you. Secondly, spellcheck. Its tough to read your 10 posts in a topic you could care less about, while stopping to decipher every other word. Moving right along, Is "conservation" a bad thing? Is it a good idea to consume everything you see because its there? Will the coal and oil last forever? And why wont you go after my posts too? Im feeling a little left out.

| Nightmare has been torched, good night to you, dear sir. +5 points for a pun, correct? (torched, in a topic about global warming?! I am the height of too-muchery.)

| global warming is all liberal commy lies, it's just cycles! Hot, cold, melt stuff, warm up stuff....it's nature! COMMIE LIBERAL PINKO LIES I TELLS YOU! Yeah, the people who deny global warming are for the most part poorly informed, or have a political agenda. I agree, the facts are there, global warming is real, scientists know it, it's becoming very apparent around the world... and even if it is all fake (which it isn't), that isn't really a valid excuse to plow down those green things that grow and make the stuff we breath. Kind of common sense if you ask me. |

Remember, all, the initial point made was about the discovery of an error by NASA and the consequences. Did the pinnacle of scientific ahievement on planet Earth publically acknowledge its critically flawed use of data and correct assertions made in the interest of better science and truth? No. Well this link may or may not be intersting depending on the opinion you hold on the subject. Notes in the Margin · Implications of NASA’s Climate Data Errors We all believe what we want to and that's what makes it a wonderful world.

| The discovery of an error about the hottest US day on record does not have the kinds of far-reaching implications in this discussion you seem to believe, Knight. Remember, I was very clear on my assertion that "global warming" is a horseshit term for a real phenomenon. Anyway, weren't NASA also the guys who did that whole inches/metric thing with Beagle? let's not go there. It may wound someone's national pride when I say that NASA, while overall a capable and respected organization, is not the be-all end-all unique and ultimately authoritative scientific source some people see it as. Many areas of the world and the world overall _are_ getting warmer, that's been pretty conclusively shown. Some are also getting cooler. This seems to confuse some people. I think I have laid out in very simple, transparent terms why this need not be so, and why there is no inconsistency here. |

| Quoting my father: "Global Warming is a lie. I read that some places are actually getting much cooler!" Place face in palm.

| No, Yossie, your father is a great man, for whom a huge head would have been erected on Easter Island - if he had been there before the, uh, climate change killed their island.

| I know you're being sarcastic, but that's actually pretty relevant. For those of you who don't know, the Easter island population was decimated by famine caused by basically cutting down all their trees. Direct influence as opposed to indirect. |

LMAO Thats hilarious!!!! Ive researched Easter island quite often as I find it fascinating. From what I know, fuzzy is right about the tree thing. They basically made a type of giant palm tree extinct. There were however some survivors when the island was first discovered, but IIRC it was famine and war brought on by the mowing of their island. Fuzzy, of course has been there. Wasnt there a few aboriginal people there when discovered fuzz?

| No, I was, ta da!, playing it straight. Confusion of my audience is the main prob with being such a smugly sarcastic asshole most of the time. I was actually aware they destroyed their island directly through their culture. And, yes, it is a lesson to us.
