It's gratifying when new members read all the stickies, look carefully through the website, have well-rounded knowledge of WWII, and have actually played FH1 before posting opinions about it, but this description probably applies to an infinitismally small number of the forum members. There are around 50 pages of stickied pages in the General forum alone. I certainly haven't read every single one.
1PoPeYe's question was something that is natural to be curious about, even if experienced forum members know better than to spam up the forums with unanswerable questions. He asked politely so why not answer the same way? He made one unnecessary post, its not as though he got drunk and ran over some kittens. Who does it help to be rude about it? Just explain.
Anything else is just another kind of forum abuse, except without the excuse of being new, and that makes STF a sad panda.
People, how could you frikken do that? This is a mod community , and in communities, we are supposed to not freaking flame each other and welcome new members. We definitely scared him off, and hes probably afraid to come back to these forums, or maybe even play FH, thinking he'll only be welcomed with cries of "STFU N00B!!!1" and "l00k! Its the retard who didnt readthe stickieslol".
Who knows, maybe he doesnt know what a sticky is? Maybe this is his first forum? Well, whatever it is, we havent showed him that the FH community is kind(?) and accepting, but cruel and evil. (yeah, strange word choice, i know...)
If you go to the website he links to on his profile, youll see its a BF2 community, similar to WOLF or HSLAN, which also posts updates of every mod on its website. Who knows how our reactions to his question will influence that websites decision to post mod updates? I guess we just lost another source of publicity as well guys.

I do realise how tiresome repetative questions are, as I made countless ammount of replies to help people on mapping forums before I simply lost any motivation. Still though, there is no reason to be rude or hard on new person because it's just "another one", it's first time question for each one of those new people, so let's try to approach them with same dose of patience.
I don't know how about others, but imo being polite is not all that painful. I don't say that given thread example shows the worst possible behaviour, so take no offence, I adress it to all these situations.
These are the forums of Horgotten Hope and Forgotten Hope 2 mod, in big part founded thanks to FH devs who made all this possible in the first place. It's the community for their mod, and scaring people away is certainly not what they want. STF expressed his opinion as a dev team representative, so let's not make decisions in such cases ourselves, as afterall this can hurt FH's reputation in the end.
Well maybe, had they bothered even researching an answer to their queries, they would see we aren't bad people unless you ask question that have been answered a million times already.
