I thoroughly enjoyed this post and the one Snotvod made. I exchanged PMs with snotvod awhile back about the “janky” looking tank in his avatar. I found it very interesting about the politics and tech that went into making it. I also liked a post Polska made about Polish war trains and the wars with The Soviet union during the 20’s, very interesting piece of history.
It’s important to remember that no one was really ready for the war (expect maybe Japan). Germany didn’t go to war with the tanks they wanted or nearly enough of them.
I love seeing American training videos of deuce and a half trucks with the word “tank” painted on them while gunners fielded wooden AT rifles against them… hows that for war gaming.

Great posts guys, Thanks!

PS: Yeah, everyone should post these. I love reading about janky ass pre-war weapons.

I'm not mocking their armies in general, nor do I disprespect the soldiers that fought and died. I'm just stating that 10 days really isn't alot for an okay sized country like the Netherlands. I'm quite sure they could've done better.

(Fact is they hardly fought and gave up due to terrorbombing, although I guess a few more days more or less wouldn't have made any difference and saved some lifes...)

None the less, all countries involved in the war indeed deserve SOME credit and a mention somewhere on a page in the history books, but I often see people from these minor countries overdoing it a tad .
(Not saying you are, just a general note)
They hardley fought? How manny books, research have you done about the dutch army???
If we kept on fighting germany would bomb Amsterdam, Utrecht, Den haag en so on! That wouldnt save any live at al, Generaal winkelman was realy brave to say the words to surender..and what about Ok sized army...Holland hade any tanks... we hade a small quite modern airforce... we used guns from before ww1!!!

Im not overdoning my country at al...So snotvod didnt.. we just giving info about the war..

If you make replays like this, first think! than post! capice?

I cant stand everytime I tel somthing about my country somebody starts saying its sucked etc..

Invincible, I think any other country in the world would have suffered the same fate as the low countries during the second world war. Poland, Holland, Belgium, Russia, the US, France, England, Finland, New Zealand, Canada... they all would have fallen if they were in that position. The tactics the Nazi's used during the opening phases of WW2 sent a shockwave through the rest of the world. It look a long time for other nations to catch up. My grandfather and great uncle fought for Poland with the allies after Normandy. The Polish were the ones who inflicted the most serious damage on the Nazi's during the Follies pocket. Free French forces also fought very hard (although they were somewhat insubordinate in their attack on Paris) during the Normandy campaign.
