Due to my birthplace near Stuttgart, I most likely would have joined up the 21.Panzerdivision and would have served as tank squad commander (Yeah, I'm smart enough to be at least Oberleutnant!) and would have went off for Lybia to fight the "War without Hate".

Btw I'm glad that I did not have to serve in a war. And hopefully dont have to in the future.

And the German war machine wouldn't have gotten more than 300 meters inside of Belgium or Poland if it had been confronted with entire populations of shotgun-wielding farmers. No part of the world would have lived under tyranny and fear, thanks to the knowledge that at any moment, air-dropped pallets full of 12-gauge goodness would drop from the skies in the name of freedom.

Uhh, they actually did drop liberator shotguns over Paris, not sure if it was that model, but they did do it.

I suppose No. 400 Squadron RCAF would do the trick. Flew Mustang Mk. 1s and then switched over to unarmed photo reconnassaince until the end of the war where they were disbanded on a captured airfield in Germany :cool:.

It was not uncommon for a POW, usually Italian, to try to finagle a way to stay in the US. But then there was that U-Boat commander who escaped and successfully evaded capture for some months in the US. That's a pretty dedicated ( and resourceful!) guy.

You're absolutely right - my Grandmother still talks about the German prisoners who were held at Camp Shelby in Southern Mississippi and how they would cut grass on the highway, build bridges, etc.

As for me, I'd have to go with US Navy destroyer commander in the Pacific - love those Fletchers.

Well I probably would just defend my country and serve in the Dutch Royal Army.

If I had to pick up a side that had a more active part in the war I probably would be in the British army (German would be cool thoughn with their equipment but I wouldn't really like to fight in the name of Hitler and national socialism).

What would I do, since I'm from Sweden I wouldn't really do very much, just :beer:

BUt If I had to join some side I would like to be in JG-52 air unit on the eastern front. :D Fly with Erich Hartmann etc... shoot down crappy Yak-9s and Mustangs... Since (what I have read) they didn't take the nazi ideology very seriously:bows:, their commander got into disputes with Göring a lot :moon:
Then I would like fly the Me262...

Yeah you're right. BOOM is almost it. But I have it. This is inspired. It works on so many levels. Instead of "BOOM!", it's....."DOOM!!"
