Agree that heiniken is the number one export, but I dont think its as good as some other dutch beers, In my opinion Grolsch is better.

Only Americans think Heineken is a good beer,its like nats p*ss,the best lagers are Becks,kronenberg 1666,Grolsch,Coors (at a push) and if your a lady Budweiser!

Do they still only serve beer in those ridiculous little tiny glasses in Holland? WTF is up with that?

We have all shapes and sizes, from miature glasses to 0,5 liter pints and more. :) The default glass is 0,28 centi liter I beleive, which means you get just as much alcohol in you as a glass of wine or shot of gin (if you are using the correct glass and fill it the way it should be filled).

The no 1 export was OIL in the Dutch East Indies days.about 60 or so years ago. now I think flowers are the top overseas seller. OH and POT too I guess...

He I know a funny story regarding that star, it symbolizes the elements + quality and has been used since halfway the 19th century. But during the cold war the red star was not in the company logo, it got changed to a white star with a red border so people wouldn't associate it with communism.

I don't like Heineken though, my favourite normal Dutch beer is Dommelsch but I mostly drink Jupiler which is a Belgian beer.
