one of my ooold friends from high school, whose encyclopaedic knowledge of WWII and all around it would put Anlushac to shame (sorry dude :-) pointed out this game to me:
I'm downloading the client as we speak; it looks like an intriguing, more tactics-heavy game than the live FPS FH is. My friend is a huge expert on the Pacific war, and apparently found this pretty amazing, so I thought I'd pass it on to the crowd here.
On another note, not at all related to WWII, I started playing http://www.urbandead.com which is an utterly fantastic waste of time when you're on a laptop or slow network. Enjoy!
I played this game for a long time and I'll suggest one thing. Dont.
All it will do is frustrate and annoy you in the end because the relentless experience grind after lvl 15. Its very addictive which is why some people still play it but I and many of the BFE guys who used to play it stopped and things have only gotten better.
The best analogy I've heard is its like heroin without the benefits.
It is pretty historically correct in ships and armament but the overall gameplay leaves alot to be desired after a couple of days.
Aye,once you get your lvl 15 ship It gets beyond boring. Worse then EQ used to be at high lvls. I would play for awhile, but know it goes to the toliet quickly once you are thrown into games against CA,CL,CV and BBs
They will all destroy you(like real life...but this is a game and that makes it angering) I wish i could have a CV though, dive bombing looks fun
well, this game is still free. It goes retail in december, and the EXP gain and such will be increased substantially for faster lvling. Also, you get great satisfaction of Torpedoing a CA and taking it down while in a fletcher...fun!
