hihihi i played that too, long time ago, early 90's i think. We used to challenge each other me and my bro, you also had to consider the wind and sometimes that damn banana came back ("ooops!").
That was good fun, but don't worry guys, you ain't old: i'm only 21 (yes, i began early with comps, i admit)

I'm not really sure Comrade, they're a rare find. You find all sorts of oddities in these video rental places sometimes. Try Ebay or Amazon.

And BTW, that Bocage suggestion actually sounded fun, though it's hard to imagine doing it without teamspeak. Just the idea of commanding or firing such weapons of incredible power should be enough to appeal to any sane gamer. I always get a tingle when I'm standing near a manned artillery and I give the fire command. It's not the same seeing it on some cheap pixelated 2D piece of crap game. This isn't the nineties, 2D is OUT. There have been advancements in gaming technology since then, and I plan on using them.

The plain fact is, I am the guy who does the stuff everyone else is too stupid or inconsiderate to do. I'm the guy hopping in an APC with a driver looking for passengers, instead of grabbing a jeep and simply zooming off alone, leaving you without a ride. I'm the guy risking my neck in a low strafe attack in my Spitfire, instead of letting that panzer blast you to hell and me buzzing around aimlessly looking for dogfights. I'm the guy who waited 10 minutes with my 88 to blast that tank that would have taken the flag. I'm the guy who drove you to the medkit, I'm the guy who turned his ship around to pick you up and spare you from drowning, the guy who led the charge, the guy who sniped that knifer sneaking up on you, and I'm the guy firing artillery at the enemy stronghold, doing more damage then an entire division of tanks! If no one else appreciates teamwork, at least I do, and I'll use it even if I'm alone in it! Say what you will, I'm proud of my dedication to proper gameplay and conduct as a team!

"How come there were no artillery simulation games?"

Ah, but there was one, in the 60's and 70's. It was called "Battleship", and had grids, coordinates, salvoes, damage reports, etc. And the game had a "plunging shell" and explosion sounds, and played "Taps" when a ship went down. Heh.

Artillery simulation games could be quite entertaining, but then it would have to be a really good one I suppose, as the basic idea is utterly boring.

Anyway a game with artillery from different times would be nice, being able to type the coordinates and other necessary data on the computers/huge calculators connected to radios used today might be easier to put ingame, but screaming the coordinates into a mic wouldn't be that bad either.

I'm tempted to write a fire command here to show their interesting world, but since that probably would be seen as leaking vital information, although I can't see any foreign military personnel reading this forum in an aggressive manner, I resist.

A wise comment indeed. I see you know what I mean about the potential and difficulty of making a fun artillery sim. On one hand, there's the sheer nostalgia and adrenaline of firing huge guns that turn entire CITIES into craters, but on the other, you're sticking a shell in a tube and pulling a rope. I'm thinking of a huge multiplayer style world dominated by huge cannons with barrels the size of ocean liners, but until PCs get advanced enough to handle such a thing, I suppose the Battlefield style artillery system will do, with many more functions and graphics that blow your mind, as well as destroyable buildings and terrain.

artillery was pretty boring actually. The artillery guys never see the enemy(well actually, during the blitzkrieg the French artillery crews had to deal with the Germans, because their mechanized troops were so fast they couldn't escape anymore)

I mean you'd get a few coordinates, and then only one order, fire as much grenades as possible on that point.

Murphy's law of combat # 137:

137 When the enemy is closing, the artillery will always be to long

he's kinda negative about artillery, lol
