IIRC Windows Basic basic had a game with two Gorilla's throwing a banana at each other and you had to guess the trajectory and range and throw a banana to hit the opponent or damage his building enough that it collapsed.

Those are what I meant by Worms, you can see your goddamn opponent in every game suggested! And they're 2D to boot, in real life artillery was about more then simply aiming up and down Oh and Comrade? DONT SHOOT! Here are the pictures, just don't kill me!

First one: Magnetic Rose by Kouji Morimoto, behind Robotech and Macross; The story of a group of space salvagers, following an urgent SOS, which leads them deep inside a mysterious ship containing the memories of a mysterious woman... (This is considered the best one, and I definitely see why)

Second one: Stinkbomb, by Tensai Okamuro, the man behind Kikaider and Wolfs Rain; The story of a simple (and not necessarily simple in the ordinary way if you know what I mean) man working at a pharmacy, who accidentally turns himself into a human bioweapon, and starts headed straight for Tokyo!

And of course: Cannonfodder, by Katsuhiro Ôtomo, the man behind Akira, himself!; A day in the life of a city thats sole purpose is firing cannons at the enemy. (Definitely not the prettiest or longest anime, it makes me want to wash my hands every time I watch it, the whole thing seems grimy in every way, but it is very philisophical and spiritual, and that's what I think anime is truly about)

Edit* jeez I found some pics but they didnt show up when it posted, here's the link to where I got them from http://www.anime-planet.com/animerec/155.html BTW, I rented Otomo's first feature film since Akira which was just released, Steamboy! Can't wait till I get a chance to watch it!

Here is what your artillery sim would be like. Have all your friends join a game of FH, say Bocage. Everyone go to the far side of the town and hide from you while someone parks a tank in a field by the German aircraft.

Now using only TS and not with the in game artillery spotting, have a friend call in artillery and correct you with vocal instructions (shift left, up 10m, etc.)

You sit in the gun and dont see anyone else. You do this for 30minutes. As is Arty is useful in FH since even if you dont hit anything it is likely to damage anything that enters that area and no one wants to enter a area where arty is splashing. At minimum your likely to force the enemy to move around that area.

One of my favorite weapons on Bulge was the Brumbar parked next to the ammo box by Tiger II spawn. That Brumbar was a major headache to Allies at the north flag. Afterwards I would shift to harrasing fire on St. Vith, trying to drop rounds in the town square and around the church.

I dont think that would be fun enough to make a game based on it. As part of a game like FH2 with a emphasis on recreating the realsim sure go for it, but not a whole sim based on it.
