actually they do work if your in a group of people who know how to paintball. for example one time i went to this huge game that spanned the whole play area for like 12 hours. and i was with a bunch of guys i didnt even know in a field of long grass in a staggered formation. we used our eyes and ears only and used hand signals to warn. well i saw a line of players from the enemy team moving towards us, so i gave the signal to stop, get down, and lay donw in the long grass. one of the other players almost stepped on me, but once they got far enough i gave the signal to get up and my little band of brothers all stood up and shot em in the back. we then secured the area and kept moving.
Well you keep playing army boy and camping out for twelve hours in the woods. As for me I'll stick to my 30 second to 5 minuite long speed ball matches where I can put my skills to the test. Speed ball is basically just a skill field where you can refine your aim, test your snap shooting, slide, lane, bunker. Oh god it's so fun. Believe me your little formation would either be laned or simply snap shot off one by one. If you don't believe me I've seen people who play speedball for so long that they can take out an entire team single handedly without even moving. I know one guy that actually doesn't even use cover anymore, he just walks the field.
Another guy capped me while he was drunk, high, and on his cell phone. Because of his superior snap shooting I couldn't hit him.
well if you notice we are using GUNS of some sort. i just like more open areas to use some kind of tatics. i like to use trees for cover, run across a stream dogding paintballs, and take cover behind natural barriers.
whe dont want to play for ''army-boys'' , we just wanted to meet echother, and paintball lookt like a cool id, becose it have to do somthing with war..we had a great day.
realax dutes..
Lol, origionally maybe, way back when. But the inventors of the actual sport called it the survival game. And that's completely differant from the paintball that's played today.
Now there's pretty much three kinds of paintball, maybe four.
Speedball/Hyperball-
The fairest type of paintball. Played at close range with lots of colour. Skills make you a good player. I've seen people with Tippmans snap shoot guys with DM5s and Force Four Flies. Usually a capture the flag push mode.
Scenario Games-
Objective based games simmilar to woods ball such as Quest for the Holy grail, and D-Day. Military fans here will be annoyed by the fact that most people dress up crazy for these things. I've even seen gorilla suites.
Big Games-
A big game of woods ball, simmilar to a scenario game but less structured and objective based. May last for several days.
Woods Ball-
The real milsim style of hiding in bushes. Pretending your a sniper, and copying tricks you've seen in movies so that way the guys in the pink and purple jersies with faster guns can laugh at you while they rip you. Money wins this game. Camoflauge, Ghille suites, and the faster the gun the more you win since there's effectively little cover.
Comrade0red some people get enjoyment out of different things than you do, just accept it. I never played speed ball or hyperball but I've played Woods ball a few times and it's great fun. I think it's much more fun to move slowly as a team and give eachother cover while others might like to have real short explosive rounds similar to Quake or UT deathmatches on your PC.
That's me in the background with rented cammo suit and paintballgear. It's been a while since I played because it's freaking expansive. 25 euro's for the gear and than 50 euro's for the paint for 3 hours of fun.
The whole idea of Speedball and hyper ball is cover. You use your own skills to hold down your own part of the field while using team work to bring your frontmen and midmen up. Teamwork makes and breaks speedball games.
