Only one was constructed and after a few minutes into it's first test run during late July of 1915, it's rear wheels became bogged down, it wasn't possible to recover and stood in the same spot until 1924, when it was scrapped. Here's a good link:

[11PzG] USMA2010,

I didn't mean "It's a fake" as in it's a model. I meant "It's a fake" as in it never existed.

silian,

Did you find it at this site: KV-VI Behemoth? Here we see an online exhibition of a superb and very imaginative model by Brian Fowler.

Let's check out his bibliography...

Quote:
Secret Soviet Armour of the Great Patriotic War Steven J. Zaloga; Arms and Armour Press, 1995

The Really Unknown War: A&E Presents: "Our Century"; Narrator: Burt Lancaster; Producer: Isaac Kleinerman

The Behemoths are Burning, Martin Cadin; Pinnacle Books, 1995

KV-VI in Action, Dan Egan and Paul Leray; Squadron/Signal Publications; Armor No. 41, 1996

Die Russischen Geheimnisseschwererpanzerkampfwagon, Walter J. Spielberger; Motobuch Verlag, 1996

Dreadful Din on the Eastern Front, Erich Maria Remarque Jr.; Podzun Verlag; 1951
Let's Google!

"The Behemoths are Burning": One page turns up, hosted by Defence Korea, and not suprisingly, it is a copy-and-paste job of the text from Fowler's model page.

"KV-VI in Action": Again, one page. Coincidentally, it's the same page.

"Dreadful Din on the Eastern Front": Two pages. One of these is now an old friend... The other appears to have disappeared from the Internet, but the cached record in the Google database reads,
Quote:
Regarding the references, does this The Dreadful Din on the Eastern Front, Erich
Maria Remarque Jr.; Podzun Verlag; 1951 not strike you as rather similar to ...
Although we don't have the inquiry in its entirety, we have an interesting lead...

"Erich Maria Remarque": Many, many pages. Here we have a biography of this German author, whose real name was Erich Paul Remark. This site tells us that he wrote a very famous novel:

Quote:
Fame came with Remarque's first novel, All Quiet on the Westerns [sic] Front, which touched a nerve of the time, and sparkled [sparked?] off a storm of political controversy.
I would refer you again to the final source cited in Fowler's bibliography.

Have I convinced you yet that the KV-VI never existed?

A.

My money goes to the Matilda I. Everybody loves a tank designed to fit an 8000 pound budget. Go ahead and try it out on Counterattack, its guarunteed to be abandoned after moving 20 feet in 5 minutes.

Imo it's the 2nd best tank on that map. It can destroy every single German tank (apart from the captured S.35 and has amazing armour which can only be heavily damaged by an 88. If you give me the Matilda I on Counterattack and i'm very careful i can go a 30 minute round without dying easily. Hey it's slow but it's one hell of a beast.

Indeed. The fact that it is armed by a machinegun makes it hard for other tanks to tell where you are, given the lack of a muzzle flash and all...

I prefer the Char Bis B.1 on that map though, lol.

Dergatev, no. Because these are the same people who can't decide if the Maus and IS-3 ever saw combat. All you did was annoy me and, furthermore, convince me to just ignore you henceforth.

I bet the clueless commissar made the KV-IV shoot at the same time like an artillery battery. That would explain the simultaneous thirty degree firing and lack of physics knowledge that a good tanker should know.

true the Camo on the Brit tanks is perfect for hanging around bushes and its big .50 can cut through everything the Axis have save for the Stug.
