It's so great to be able to play this on filled servers again, it's a slap in the face for DICE that a mod plays so much better than a retail game. The m16 is awesome and it rules from short to medium range when used in small bursts, the m60 is a support weapon not a run and gun tool, pistols are powerfull up close.

The new maps look awesome, especially Green Hell and River Patrol give the Nam feeling BFV so lacked.

Job well done by the eod dev team.

EoD isnt really my type of mod. But, I still credit their amazing work.

I think I'll give this one a miss. I'm too buisy playing XWWII.

It'll be fun from time to time but I was kinda dissapointed, I remembered everything being so much cooler.

For example, I used to think the skins, models and sounds from the mod rocked! Now that i've been playing other mods such as FH, DC Final and GC I realise that they need attention.

This release also lacks the things I was looking forward too such as the Bayonet and Aussies voices, currently I wouldnt even call them aussies :(

The mod is also kinda buggy with the odd blank icon where there should be a weapon etc

Still the mod is fun and I'm gonna play it for a while until FH 0.67 is released.

Tell me about it, I couldn't see a thing and I don't have any window blinds or heavy curtains so I couldn't get my room dark enough to at least see something. But I love the old night map Eclipse, running through the dark with all the crazy animal noises.

This mod was my favorite before FH came to me. I just love setting up ambushes as the North Vietnamese /Vietcong and the helicopters of the US. Very high quality mod that runs very well compared with other mods of the same caliber.

im having a wierd problem, i cant install bf 1942 and i want to play Eod so bad...
when i put in bf1942 the window comes up with install... so i click install and then i get another window that says do you wish to remove battlefield 1942 and all of its components? something like that

I get this same messege when im trying to install bf1942.. so far i have got it at 13% 36% and 48%
i have a fealling it's the cd that's damaged.. mine is pretty srewed up..

i think i have to buy a new cd to be able to get the game running.. :uhm:

but what about yours? is it also in a bad state? if not i dont know what the problem could be..

I had a problem where the installer stopped midway through and said that lang son.rfa was corrupt, try reinstalling the application.

I just redownloaded the package and it installed fine.Only problem Is my game crashes when It loads up Lang Son now.... :(

make sure you have uninstalled the old bf1942 and deleted the EA folder completely.
use "add and remove programs" in your control panel
or put the disc in and when it asks to uninstall pick yes.... let it remove the old copy.
then try re-installing again after that.....
your comp still thinks its loaded on your HD, thats why its asking to uninstall..

OT.... what happened to the filefront link its dead?

ive tried several times, to dl it from the other mirrors...
but the dl always hangs up, midway thru :/
at about the 400megs point....grrrr
they need to send it to fileplanet, with their glorious D/L manager...that never fails me!

I don't know if any of you guys experienced a CTD when you load some maps?
But anyway, most of you guys who experienced it, probably had Version .31 installed.
That version MUST be deleted BEFORE you install .4.

Having play FH for so long, EOD does seem kinda rough around the edges. That said, EOD's gameplay is still fantastic, and thats what counts at the end of the day.

That release was a leaked version, and the official version isnt supposed to come out until tuesday at the earliest. The file was leaked by a german eod site that had the file early and was supposed to wait to make a few final changes, but they just threw it into an installer and released it...

I feal your pain bro.. :( now the installer just keeps stoping at 13%..
so i went down to the store to buy a new copy but now you can only buy those stupid deluxe copy's with bf1942 and all the expansions and i allready own Road to Rome..

so do any of you guys know a cheap place online to order a single copy of Battlefield1942?

In case someone is interested, 0.45, the last release for BF1942 is out. It contains four new maps and a few new vehicles as well. I just downloaded it and expected to play it for a few rounds, but the all-seeing eye shows only three players online. :eek: :uhoh: I didn't expect a huge rush of players, but I never thought that the release would get this little attention.
