Cant wait for monday!
 

After years of 56k crappiness, Im finally getting broadband, I talked my dad into checking into SBC DSL and he decided to order (cant get anything els, cable is not available) We got the express package because the pro wasnt available for some strange reason, so I should atleast be able to download files at 100kbs, thats lightyears ahead of the 5.7kbs I get now, Unfortunatly I wont have all of this untill monday when they activate our service, the wait is unbearable, all I can think of is all the mods I can finally download without having to wait 30+ hours. Lately my 56k connection has taken a turn for the worse, making gameplay in BF a living hell, connection problems show up every minute, and last anywhere from around 10 to 45 seconds, This makes the wait for DSL even worse, all I cant wait to play a game with a ping below 200.

This is off-topic. I'm getting tired of these random threads having nothing to do with FH (or even WWII for that matter!) being posted in the General Yib-Yab (Off Topic).

How does getting DSL have anthing to do with FH besides [I]your[I] being able to download it. This thread is about your internet connection. There's no denying that, and it sh.....aah screw it....I'm tired....

When I had to deal with 56k I learned a valuable lesson: make friends or use school connections. I had my friends download and burn mods and patches and stuff. School connections can also be whored fairly well if your machines have CD-burners. Just claim a seat at study hall, screw with the pagefile size to allow the download to fit (bypasses a lot of the security they have on the machines) and download it to the Temporary internet cache folder. Then burn it to a CD. Shouldn't take more then 20 minutes to get around 200 megs.
