Doom 3 Requirements
 

My friend was able to play doom 3 with decent gameplay and graphics on a 1.5 ghz PENTIUM 4 with geforce 4 mx440. After going to doom 3 fanatics forums, I heard rumors of needing 2 gig of ram to play doom 3, lol.

You could have posted this in the Doom 3 topic we already got in here. And frankly a GF4 440 mx won't do the game any justice seeing thet the graphics are the major thing it has going for it.

gf4 440mx is slower than a geforce 3

MX series Geforce cards are overclocked Geforce 2 cards. Best marketing strategy they ever had, tricking customers into thinking GF4 MX cards were equal to other GF4 cards. Many people fell for that trick.
