Talvisota (Winter War)...

Great movie i had the good fortune of seeing it today and if you are into WWII films you should buy this. (Shame on me for watching the bootleg one though) It is very accurate in representing the equipment and attire used on both sides for example Russians use DPs, T 26s(couldn't tell if they were mock ups), I 16s while the Finns use there Suomi SMGs and Lahti light machine guns. It's is of course in subtitles but it is a damn good movie and a must watch film for anyone intrested in the Winter War or WWII.

Manors? I didn't realize that we were talking about mansions.

You really have no business telling others to learn manners, considering how you regularly throw out insults on the WOLF server and, quite obviously, on this forum as well.

You shouldn't judge members based on their post count. Some people, such as myself, just like to read the forum rather than actively contribute. Others just don't have the time to sit around a gaming forum and spam their way into the thousands, like you have.

The T-26s are genuine, repaired by our Armoured museum. And the movie is great, i've seen it a few times myself.:nodding: I'm closer to the source though..:D

The only people I ever insult on Game Servers are:
  • Smacktards.
  • Plane Bailers who bail with no chute.
  • TeamKillers.
  • Tank and Arty Hijackers.
Now which section do you fit into?

Spam my way into the thousands? I have been at gamingforums for over a years now not a few weeks like you. 4.50 PPD isn't spam considering alot of people have more posts than me and joined alot later than me.

My insult at you was in reply to your rather blunt statement of 'You need to be shot.' Pearl Harbour isn't everyones cup of tea but you don't need to say I should be murdered for liking the film. If you were to post in here 'I have a penchant for midnight self-pleasuring excursions into city public parks.' Then I could understand people saying you need to be shot but for liking a movie? I'm horrified

um, if you liked the parts were people were not flying planes or shooting at said planes, then i would have to agree with the previous posters that you need to be shot, the non war parts of that movie were just plain stupid

Re: Talvisota (Winter War)...

pearl harbor was pretty bad... However I did like the fact that they had a missile cruiser blowing fake charges. People like me can't tell the diference between modern naval vessels and vintage ones. I think it was cool to see how HYPER realistic the aerial combat was.
...anyway
My favorite ww2 movie was Das Boot.

[11PzG]matyast June 7th, 2004 03:30 PM

Re: Talvisota (Winter War)...

Das boot is the best war movie ever. And modern naval vessels have very few guns, and the destroyers nowadays have only one small cannon. WWII destroyers had around 4 large guns...2 in front and 2 in back. The bridge was also quite low, whilst in the movie, the destroyers' bridges distinctly stick out in the front...

SacredLizard June 8th, 2004 10:45 AM

Re: Talvisota (Winter War)...

I know, my friend. I was just kidding. Thanks for helping, though. The ships (the ones that weren't CG) in that movie were so obviously modern, and the non CG explosions were like smoke charges or something. I hate Disney. For some reason that movie seems like its elbowing me in the ribs, cajoling me into a state of ignorant contentedness. It feels like the immense scope of the subject with which the film deals reaches far beyond the abilities of whomever is responsible for its delineation and its execution, and, the fingerprints of clumsy hands hang heavily and invisibly on the piece and the whole deal feels like a sneaky lie somehow.

[11PzG]matyast June 8th, 2004 04:00 PM

Re: Talvisota (Winter War)...

The only thing I do not get, is why they didn't computer animate some of the destroyers instead of using modern ones. It would have been a lot cheaper, realistic...and they could have even got the ships right....
