"Digital Illusions game series Battlefield is coming to the PlayStation 2. The game, the game, thats going to be called Battlefield: Modern Combat, is planned to be released fall 2004. The publishers are Electronic Arts.

-It's a natural way in our way of designing the trademark Battlefield and we see the game Battlefield: Modern Combat as a spring to the next generation of Playstation, thats released in 2006, Patrick Söderlund says, under Digital Illusions.

Battlefield: Modern Combat is a multiplayer game, and can be played with up to 24 players at a time over the internet. For this you'll need a Playstation 2, a broadband internet connection, a memory card and an internet adapter.

Battlefield: Modern Combat is developed by Digital Illusions Göteborg (Sweeden) and its time is modern. You will be able to have more then 30 vehicles and 70 weapons. It will include: China, USA and a new middleeast coalition. The players can communicate via a USB headset.

During spring 2003 three new deals was made with Electronic Arts, one of them being Battlefield: Modern Combat. The named title Battlefield: Modern Combat is for the Playstation 2, var ett av dessa avtal.

Battlefield: Modern Combat is for Playstation 2 and is going to be sold as a fullprice game for around 50USD. Electronic Arts is distrubuting and publishing the game. It's planned for release around fall 2004"
