The game, the game, thats going to be called Battlefield: Modern Combat, is planned to be released fall 2004. The publishers are Electronic Arts. -It's a natural way in our way of designing the trademark Battlefield and we see the game Battlefield: Modern Combat as a spring to the next generation of Playstation, thats released in 2006, Patrick Söderlund says, under Digital Illusions. Battlefield: Modern Combat is a multiplayer game, and can be played with up to 24 players at a time over the internet. For this you'll need a Playstation 2, a broadband internet connection, a memory card and an internet adapter. Battlefield: Modern Combat is developed by Digital Illusions Göteborg (Sweeden) and its time is modern. You will be able to have more then 30 vehicles and 70 weapons. It will include: China, USA and a new middleeast coalition. The players can communicate via a USB headset. During spring 2003 three new deals was made with Electronic Arts, one of them being Battlefield: Modern Combat. The named title Battlefield: Modern Combat is for the Playstation 2, var ett av dessa avtal. Just start up Desert Combat, set the resolution to 640x480, drop all the detail settings to 'low' (don't forget to set the view distance to 50% for that unique console flavor!), and make sure you run disk defrag and 3DMark 03 in the background to simulate framerate problems. Then join a 24 player online match (preferably a server with less than 128kbps upload and connected through AOL broadband) and voila! It's like playing on a PS2!" |

Re: BF Modern combat... Damn, I was gonna post it, but BAM beat me to it.:( Oh well, maybe next time.. For those of you who say that console sucks, I don't quite agree with you. I agree that the PC is waaaay better than all of the consoles, but I still own a PS2 and I still enjoy playing on it. |

Re: BF Modern combat... Luckily gameplay is more important then graphics, at least that's my opninion. So if it's anything like DC it will suck if it's more like opflash or aa then the game could be good but tbh I don't think it will be very realistic. You can create great looking games on the ps2 just look at mgs2 (and 3), GT2 (and 3) and Killzone for instance. But then you'll have to be very good at the programming and dedicated. |
