Default custom coding: force open parachute upon vehicle exit

I know it is possible to force open parachute at spawn, like in market garden or radio controlled ju52/c-47.

I'd like to know if it possible to do it when you exit a vehicle, say a Stuka. I want the game force you to open parachute immediately after exiting the plane.

hehe, I already said this in the other thread, but you might as well hear it again: There is somewhere a script that forces the "in air inhibitations" on a soldier who is falling for a certain amount of time or who reaches a certain speed (whichever one doesnt matter to me) -basically that means you loose ability to shoot, walk and so-on, but gain the ability to open chute... look for this code. It may be in the commonSoldierData.inc in your objects/soldiers/common folder.

I dont know, even if you do find this script, that you will be able to test your work, since I have found that changing soldier code on custom maps causes bugs ... strange bugs... you would have to edit the code and repack the entire objects folder, which will really mess up your chances at playing online, and could cause other problems if the packing utility crashes (as it always did for me all those years ago, when I first started modding). I dont have any files in front of me at the moment (at work) so until I am home, I probably won't be able to look.

What does this line mean: ObjectTemplate.setParachuteDrag 24.00Is there a way at least to delay the parachute? I mean I want it to open 2 seconds after you hit 9.

Check the C-47 in SW, it has a line that forces parachute opening after someone leaves it... It's been a long time since 1942, so i dont remember which was, thought...

The C-47 in SW doesn't make you open the parachute on exit, does it?

*runs off to play Mimoyecques*
