| There seem to be two frequently occuring issues with Forgotten Hope 2.1, they are: 1 - When going into ironsight mode the screen turns black and white and shaky. 2 - FH2.exe fails to move certain files. The first problem has to do with the custom shaders FH2 uses. FH2.exe makes a backup of the BF2 shaders and then replaces them with its own shaders. If you experience a shaky, black and white screen, then FH2 is not using its own shaders. This problem can have a variety of causes, but these fixes should get rid of the problem: - Make sure you run FH2.exe, do not start FH2 from BF2.exe! - Delete your shader cache. You can find this cache under "My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods/fh2/cache". The second problem can come in three different forms: 1 - There was an error moving (/fh2 to /bf2) because access was denied. 2 - There was an error moving (/bf2 to /bf2.tmp) because the file already exists. 3 - There was an error moving (/fh2 to /bf2) because the file could not be found. The first problem can be caused by not running windows Vista in administrator mode. You will have to switch to admin mode for this function to work properly. However, it may also be caused by an anti-virus program blocking the renaming action. You may have to disable it. The second problem can have any number of causes, but can easily be fixed by removing all files from "My Documents/Battlefield 2/mods". (These files will be automatically regenerated the next time you run FH2 or BF2.) The third problem is just an annoyance and doesn't cause any further problems. Just try to ignore it, ctz will attempt to make improvements to FH2.exe to prevent these issues.

| You must run this executable as an Administrator due to a bug in Windows. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q303437/: Access Denied. I get this message when I try to run FH2.1. I tried right-clicking and "Run as Admin", but I still get the same message. The microsoft support page doesn't tell me anything useful. What can I do??? |

| There is currently a temporary solution to the black/white wavy ironsight bug. You can fix this by manually replacing the BF2 shaders as follows: 1) delete shader cache, as Lightning described above 2) browse to "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2" 3) rename "shaders_client.zip" to "shaders_client.zip.old" 4) browse to "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2" 5) COPY (not move!) "shaders_client.zip" to "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2" You have now replaced the BF2 shaders. Run FH2 through the shortcut in the start menu or on your desktop (i.e. the official way, via fh2.exe), everything should now work properly. If you want to play BF2 again, you will need to undo the above, that means: 1) delete "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\shaders_client.zip" 2) rename "shaders_client.zip.old" back to "shaders_client.zip" Don't forget this, BF2 may not run properly if you don't switch the files back.

| I just wiped my computer and so everything was a fresh install. My computer is running windows XP. I installed BF2, 1.41 full patch and full 2.1 FH2. Have only had problems. The one time I was actually in game, it CTD after load in. Now I can load the game but after I click join game and it brings up the map and kits, the cursor freezes. Everything in the background is still running but I can't do anything. All of my control settings are blank as well. I can't escape unless I end it in the task manager. Anyone got any ideas? Keep in mind I have removed and installed 3 times already. Last edited by A.Braun; May 27th, 2008 at 11:42 PM.. |

| For some reason, whenever a map ends and a new one is starting I get the error "Battle Field 2 has crashed." And it boots me out of the game.

| I have a temp fix for my situation. My controls would delete themselves and could not play. Well I went into my documents/battlefield2/profiles/ my profile and found that I was missing 3 files. Fortunatly my husband and I have a small network and his FH2 works fine. I copied the files and draged them to my profile folder. I was missing Controls.bf2, Controls.con.bak, and Controls.con. After I moved the copy of his files I adjusted the controls for my preference and have had no problems. Hopefully this may help some people if they have a friend with a working FH2 they can just get a copy of the files and done. |

| Has anyone else had freezing problems online? I can play for 15 minutes but then all of a sudden the game will freeze and I can't do anything. I'm trying to work out whether it's an internet problem or software |
