I don't have Vista but I'm fairly sure I read the answer to this problem already in this forum. Glad it works half decently now. I'm sticking with XP for a while.

Thanks for the great sig Braun!

Try the fix I came up with here, and let me know if your bf2 was installed from a download from ea.com or if if was the store bought cd version.
Link: FH2 doesnt start!

Default Cure?

I think i may have stumbled upon a quick fix for the EA DLer version of the BF2 complete pack, that can be understood, and done by the uneducated player. This worked for me, and had my FH2 running fine, after the DAMN warning. My BF2 client is at the most recent update.

This is for the windows XP SP2.

Start BF2 normally, and enter BFHQ. Find the tab "community".

Next, choose custom games, and FH2 should be listed.

Click the Activate button. There will be a warning that BF2 will restart, and click OK.

the game will restart, but FH2 will start.

NO MORE DAMN ERRORS!!!!!

I recently switched my monitors and now i cannot start the game due to a changed resolution, for some reason, so i would appreciate if someone can confirm this temporary solution, until a proper fix is released.

If anyone knows what to do to get BF2 working, for the problem i have, it would be appreciated. My old monitor, a 19' WS 1440X900, ran the game fine, but stretched, now i have 1650 X 1050 and it is not so good
game starts, looks like its gonna do somthing , then blackscreens.

Default Re: WARNING "You must run FH2 with FH2.exe"

theres a widescreen fix... on the shortcut, go to properties, and add this to target: +szx 1680 +szy 1050

you can change those numbers to the appropriate resolution of course.
