Windows Vista 64bit Problem - your FAQ does not help
 

Hi Guys,

I have a really big problem. When i want to play a battlefield 1942 modifaction
it will crash in the loading screen.

my drivers are up to date and non beta.

changing compatibility mode into win98 makes everything worse,because then i'm not able to play the normal battlefield anymore.

other compatibility modes won't help either.

my system:
CPU: intel quadcore 4x 2,40 Ghz
Graphic: geforce 8800 ultra
RAM: 4096 gig ram ( dont know how much the OS really uses, but its
4096 pure hardware)
Mainboard : Asus Striker Extreme
Sound: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer

this system works totally fine, all my other games work perfectly und loadingtimes are the best i ever had.........(please dont post any "Vista sucks go XP comments", i like to have 4 gig ram and i dont want to have a 32bit system anymore)

Anyway, have a look at all the threads right in this forum on Vista and problems with BF42 and FH. I myself don't run Vista yet, because I don't really see the need for it currently (for me personally :) )

Hope there is something in there to help you out... Sure these are suggestions for the 32 bits Vista, but who know. Maybe there is something in there for you as well...
