It's like this: Position 5 and 6, the ones with the smallest guns, have these HUGE AA batteries as alt fire. All the AA guns and MGs on that side of the boat fire at once, in a huge onslaught that not even the best fighter ace can maneuver out of. It looks really cool, but lags a lot.

It works almost the same way with British battleships, they don't have the AA coupled with the deck guns, but they have them stuck together in the same way. There's 2 of the AA guns with a huge amount of barrels on each side, and they're both fired from one position.

And the planes work like this: Hold the throttle button and get your engines running, when they're all fired up press alt fire. The first time, it lauches you off the ship by means of a catapult, and when you get into the air it works as an artillery spotter.
