Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Maybe it's just me but I thought it was worth reporting.
At Bir Hakeim, 64 MP, I wanted to climb up the ladder of one of the buildings in the middle of the fortification and it jammed it didn't wanted me to let up tried multiple times but when you walk up the ladder you just stop and start getting shaky, after that I tried it with a leap and it worked.
Only got this one time because I only played Gazala once =p

Maybe it's just my PC or whatever but I'm trying to help, lol.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Got another really f**ked up bug.
I was playing Operation Hyacinth, someone shot me I went blurry (because of my wounds) and dropped a bandage, while I was waiting for the blur to disappear I lay down and aimed with my rifle, to be sure the guy wouldn't sneak up on me. But my aiming went grey. And that didn't dissappeared.. Alright no problem, I thought, I played another round and it was still there, complete other map, other server, fresh game. So I uninstalled my FH2 and I'm now waiting on the download.
Also got some screens to show you people.

Ive got the black and white ironsights too, others have got it also . The devs are working on it I believe

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

The irondights being grey is a userside problem which has to do with shaders. There is no fix for this. If FH2 is launched and exited properly there shouldn't be any shader problems, but if it crashes or isn't closed properly in san other way you might get screwed shaders. See the help/support forum on how to fix shader problems with the ironsights.

Edit, here is a direct link to the stick about this:

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

I suggest you delete your shader cache Lord Invictus. Just delete the folders in "Mijn Documenten/Battlefield 2/mods/fh2/cache/"

[130.Pz]W.Fuchs May 20th, 2008 11:07 AM

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Thanks for the help :)
But... Do I just delete the ENTIRE cache? Just want to be sure, do not want to kill my FH2 again
(as a sidenote, I reinstalled my FH2 but didn't tested it, going to test it right now if the problem is still there I'll do what you guys advice me)
EDIT: ah wait I found something, when I click on the cache this appears, a map with the following name: {D7B71E-4763-11CF...
Should I delete that one? lol

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Yes, delete the {D7B71E-4763-11CF... folder(s).

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Alright thanks!
Just a little note, the camo nets are no longer camo nets they look more like a big panty covering tanks..
Here some screenshots: (this was before I removed the folders, maybe it's useful for your sticky)

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Yes, that has the same cause as the black and white ironsights.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Problem did not go away. This is what I did:
-Removed the folders
-Played game (problem still there)
-Shut down game (another error report appeared)
-Restarted my PC
-Looked again in the folders, the folders are back there.
-Removed them again
-Played game (problem still there)
-Shut game down (again error report)

I think I'm going to try different accounts and if that wont work I'm totally cleaning the Battlefield.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Did FH2 prompt you the "optimizing shaders" message while loading the first map?

And what Drivers are you using for your Gfx Card?

[130.Pz]W.Fuchs May 21st, 2008 07:55 AM

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Yes, it optimizes shaders everytime since the patch..
And how do I find drivers? (I'm a total dummy with computers)

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

sorry cannot replicate the ladder bug, this was either not seen during the countless 16p gazala testing sessions, so im afraid if no one else has this bug i cannot be considered a bug.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Alright then it was just me

Can someone tell me how to completely remove Battlefield 2 from your PC? I know Lobo posted it once but can't seem to find it back.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

That shader problem is caused by not running Fh with "FH
.exe". I am quite sure that LordInvictus use it, but it's better to post...

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Can't replicate the bug with the ladders either, tried both ladders at Bir Hakeim.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Battlefield 2 is not the only game going crazy lately. Rome: Total War totally flipped few days ago had to remove it.. It could be the patch but it could also be my newest game CoD2..
But anyways how do I completely remove Battlefield 2 from my pc, uninstall and then remove some folders right?

Admiral Donutz May 24th, 2008 03:05 AM

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

And you have (well may wish to) clear out your register aswell, there should be a topic from last week or so where this is explaned (try seasrching for it). If you follow those instructions you will remove every single trace of BF2 from your computer.

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

Solved the black/white ironsights!
Reinstalled BF2, SF, patch and FH2 2.0 full install.

Maybe some usefull information:
When Xfire is running and when I close FH2 the toolbox says it has crashed.
When I don't run Xfire and when I close FH2 there is no crash.

So my solve is: don't run Xfire and FH2 together.

spitfire05 May 31st, 2008 11:23 AM

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

In my case, xfire doesn't disturb FH2 (sure, there is report about crash each time I close FH2, but just ignore it). But, do not use Xfire server browser to join FH2 servers, it won't replace the shaders (and it will cause black & white ironsight and so on).

[130.Pz]W.Fuchs June 1st, 2008 03:53 AM

Re: Gazala, ladder at Bir Hakeim

So Xfire and Toolbox aren't working together.
I never join server by using xfire though.
