And so is this free to all to play, for players of any skill level? I've just started playing FH quite recently (and i love it btw) and im not all that good but I feel that public servers don't really help to improve your skills. Also are these US servers? If so how will that affect my ping as im in the UK? Will i still be able to comfortably play with a reasonable level of ping?

Thanks

This is a great tourny if you want the full expirenece of FH, and heres why:

FH is basicly a massively mutiplayer game with a max of 64 people playing at once. With WaW (World At War) those 64 players will be cordinatted and commanded to attack, defend and engage enemy postions. You could be spearheading a attack across ariver, thats what I did last thrusday, or holding a vital town and fending' agaist enemy counterattacks.

Strange...

Anyway - I joined BFE-WaW for their latest campaign - I'd thoroughly reccommend it to anyone who likes FH and coordinated teamplay.

The latest World at War battle took place on April 29th. The map was Rabaul which is an island hopping Pacific map.

Never before has there been a Battle in the Pacific so unprecedented in casualities and so much has Sea and Air become more than an priority but necessity to victory.
It was thought to be an J43 Divisional victory by themselves due to their unrelenting successes, another territory to be gobbled by their superior training and technology, however the 44th Marines had in their arsenal an array of weaponry that rose to overwhelm the indifferent Jap's decisively.
The Islands throughout the Battle became blood-baths instantaneously. Dozens of men would embark off their transports to be met each other with frag grenades and automatics as well bombers and gunboats making the devils job all to easier.

But also Submarines and Gunboats, Fighters of the opposing armies fought each other for supremacy of the Isles to make the leverage for infantry less frustrating, but in conclusion the Marines were much more successful in crippling the J43's ships and aircraft, daily crushing their initiative and security to roam the seas as so thoughtlessly as of the Marines were.

Overall, while the J43 Hoheishidan fought with great morale and doctrine, the Marines outmatched them in fire power and what appeared to be tactical wits and bested them, repelling their vast invasion as it is for the first time.
As of now, the relentless imperial offensive has came to an strategic end in the Pacific.
However we have away in the West, another theatre warming up and you better bring your skin lotions, as tanks and men in shorts'en'panties march in the hot sun and sand, to clash another week in this catastrophic World At War...

The 44th Marines Regiment has again distinguished themselves, especially in a new environment of their strategic choosing and delivered the iron blows against their once Island-seizing opponent, the J43 Hoheishidan. And as so they did, yet another humiliating defeat at the heels of the J43.
The Marines made an impressive and surprising blow at the dunes of Rabual and seized their first sandbox to play in. The hilly terrain of the sandy battlegrounds made the soldiers tremble as the unsuspecting Daimler or Stuka could come crashing down upon them and leaving themself and perhaps the rest of the company in peril.

Even more so heavy armour clashed. Panzer III's and Crusader's battled it out ferociously over height, striding across the sands and rough dunes to ambush and strike each other like rabid dogs half-starved.

Something to can be said about the outstanding efforts of the Luftwaffe and Royal Airforce of both divisions, they flew and fought each other ferociously and pounded each others mobilized forces.
Along this hundreds of men and woman alike of both divisions strode in style. Transports raced towards tactical locations to capture them and bleed dry their enemy of manpower. Although very weary of possible behind-the-hill armoured vehicles and anything other of sorts to just blow them away.

Situations like this went throughout the day morning and evening of the battle as the Marine's were crushing the J43 relentlessly, despite their inevitable defeat scored several victories against their Western foes making them think twice about letting their efficiency fall short.
As it was, the western territory of Rabual was overwhelmed and the spoils of war were drawn into the stockpiles of the 44th as they rode merrily along the post-battle debris, yet planning another momentous invasion though this time the J43 will be even more ready for the ravaging foreigners.
Time will tell, until next week in this ensuing World War.

- Battle 7 of WaW-12, Tunis/Desert Rose -
-- Axis victory / 24:7 --

The 44th Marines Regiment embarked upon a difficult task last saturday. The Axis held territory of Tunis was supposed to be their yet biggest success in the African Campaign but their couragous Assault got stuck in quicksand, quicksand and the soldiers of the J43.

Despite heavy fighting in the early hours of the battle the Axis forces were able to controll the fighting more and more each hour. Their emplaced Anti-Tank guns proved to be of special value alongside their numerous tanktraps which caught the mobile allied tank force unprepared.

But the Allies did not give up that easily, in a final effort they tossed every possible man into combat gaining back inch by inch what they lost previously. With the Allied Airforce controlling the skies despite a heavy flak defense around the southern part of the battleground they were able to inflict heavy casulties among the Germans.

Once the dust and smoke of incoming Artillery fire settled you could hear officers barking orders along the frontlines of both sides, encouraging their men to keep fighting. Exhaustion, the heat of the desert and the enemy already took their toll but everyone left kept fighting as if it was the first second of the War.

The defense of Tunis stood, the Axis were able to fight back the allied attack and now gained the initiative. They will strike along the Eastern front, rumors of new German Heavy Tanks can be heared already among the Russian lines but they are determined to withstand in this World at War

So what are you still waiting for, the year is approaching late 1942 and the war has reached the Eastern Front, sign up and join a World at War.
