Default Exploring the map???

gday guys, looked through the posts and couldnt find this question, but foirgive me if i missed it....

is there any point exploring the world in farcry? i mean apart from the tapes and diamonds, and the occasional golden AK (which as far as im concerned is pointless?), is there anything else to see or do? like in stalker CS it was always worthwhile and often fun to just go and see what you can find. but i feel that is missing in farcry. or am i wrong? has anyone found any useful stuff or cool things? and i dont mean hanggliders either, haha!

cheers

Not really, it's definitely not as much an RPG as STALKER, but then neither is original Far Cry, so I didn't expect it to be. True it's an entirely different story than FC 1 and adds some degree of RPG, but I don't think they ever intended it to be as RPG as something like STALKER.

It would have been so cool though had they added some useful items that were hard to get to, like special weapons or weapon upgrades. Maybe stashed in a lair of predatory animals, which they also decided to omit.

The Golden AK-47 is rather useful because it doesn't jam, like all other weapons they start rusting and stuff, the golden AK-47 stays "clean".

I currently have a gameplay total of 22 hours, and I still find the world awesome to navigate in, even though there are hardly any secret stashes (none of what I found so far, at least). I guess I keep the fun factor of taking advantage of the environment and vegetation for sneaking around bases and camps... though the only "secrets" I found so far are the Golden AK's and an occasional vehicle.

^ And ofcourse diamonds and jackal tapes. The tapes are useless though, just for fun listening.

I wish there was a golden MM-1 or something, that golden ak is so dumb. As far as weapons go, the only reason I use the ak is because I like the sound of it.
