Crysis or Farcry 2 ??

Yeah, Far Cry 2 is the winner. I like the realism over it, no mutants, no monsters and aliens, just old-style bandits!

I hope FC 2 doesn't have the plastic toy-esque character models like in FC1.

Hmm....

Atmosphere - Crysis' sounds of the jungle with the faint sound of a steady on edge soundtrack keep you on your toes through and through. The jungle itself keeps you mezmerized by the jaw dropping view of long range distances of thick brush, running through bushes and plants with the speed power amped up trying to escape from Koreans shooting at you, only hitting trees which collapse around you.

Graphics - Both have arguebly great, astounding graphics, Far Cry 2, with a more gritty, sub-dued look to it, and Crysis with a more realistic yet somewhat, surreal, colorfilled world. IMO crysis looks better.

Affects - Far Cry 2 is the obvious choice, the even though Crysis beats it in graphics, the affects are its strongest selling point, from pulling bullets out of your hands to regain some health, to setting entire feilds on fire, with the fire set to the fields, burning in whichever path the wind takes. Wounding enemies in certain areas is realistic, shooting enemies in the neck will make them fall to the ground and hold there neck while struggling on the ground. It's little things such as those which add total immersiveness into this game.

AI - Crysis AI is rather tactical and also dynamic, but what about Far Cry? Oh, i'll tell you. Far Cry's Ai is much more than sophisticated, it offers you with constant challenge's to overcome, from the AI responding to eachother in dynamic ways, to the AI calling over medics when someone is injured. It is arguebly close but, the team has produced an overall better AI system than Far Cry's, dynamicaly that is, i am unsure about whether they are better tacticaly though.

Which to get? Well Crysis offers amazing visuals aswell as a better physics engine to date in my opinion, it almost excells at every category for released games, but, Far Cry 2, from what we've scene, looks to be promising aswell in physics, AI, and affects. Well, while your waiting for Far Cry 2, i would suggest picking up Crysis, as it offers ATLEAST 10-12 hours of intense constant action, the loading times for Crysis are also surprisingly fast. Obviously you should pick up Crysis right now, as Far Cry 2 doesn't come out till the 2nd quarter of 08.

And to what NuclearDwarf said, i disagree, i like sci-fi shooters, it offers an experiance which is not physicaly possible to us (atleast in our lifetimes :P) graphics wise Crysis is better, that is if you have the machine to run it. I myself can't run everything on Very High, but even with some of the settings on medium and high it still seems to overwhelm with amazing visuals.

I will be very interested to make a decision once I'm able to play Crysis on maxed details [come on next-gen video cards!] because as it currently stands, I can only play on Medium, and personally, that's unacceptable to me.

Same here, i mean i can deal with it but it's jsut kind of irritating that its not at its fullest.

Yeah i'm the same even on my rig saying that even on medium the graphics are astonishing and wait until you beat it like i just did tonight can anyone say Crysis 2! I hate the ending that's all i'm gonna say and i shall be getting Far Cry 2 too so i didn't bother choosing one for the Poll!

I've not played either. Ever. But I've seen enough Crysis videos that my opinion is very much like N88TR's. I feel like I've played the game already, and I've seen enough of its graphics for a year.

FarCry 2 looks better in graphics and in A.I., but I don't know how it'll handle. No one's play Far Cry 2 yet, have they?

Crysis is THE most consistently spectacular game ever made.

I hope they do a good job with FC2 cause Crysis may have stolen its thunder. If only Crytek spent more time on characters...

I think Far Cry 2 looks better, looks a bit grittier and somewhat more realistic.

Then again, I saw the Crysis promotion shots, those might have well been real photos.
