server connection problem

I have recently decided to start playing FEAR Combat again, but I have found that I can't connect to the multiplayer servers :/... yet I can run the game perfectly fine when I create my own server...the map loads and the connection is fine for my own servers. When I try to connect to a server from the list it sits there for about 15 second and doesn't load anything, then I get the "disconnected from server" error. I think ive been able to connect to a server once... after I downloaded a duke nukem mod... but the server was empty when I finally made it in.I am on a new 1gbps network and it seems fast enough .

I did have previous issues with my LAN network earlier this month though; many of my downloads would be corrupt and many things loading online would just go extremely slow or just quit loading. (I read that my now uninstalled nvidia network manager might have caused that... i dunno)Anyway, that problem seems to have fixed itself now... but it still might be related to me not being able to connect to servers. My stats:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor,

Asus mobo,

Nvidia geforce 6800 vid card,

1 gig ram,

windows xp home edition,

well, that's all for now. hope for a possible fix soon so I can get to playing



oh, and my firewall isn't blocking the game... and I don't have a router. I'm just on a huge campus network :/
