Game wont play?

I downloaded the F.E.A.R MP Demo and played it on highest settings that I could have.

I installed the complete F.E.A.R today on my computer and ran the game. It told me I needed to update the game so I clicked the "Update Now" button and it said something failed with the FTP or something lame like that, so I downloaded the patch from File Front. Patch was installed successfully, I restarted my computer, and when I clicked the F.E.A.R Icon to start the game. Nothing happened. I went into My Computer and clicked the Icon in my D: Drive when the "Play Game, Unistall, Bonus Features" thing came up. I clicked Play Game and nothing happened.

I've restarted the computer 3 times and nothing is working.

Any help?

Re-install it. Check the patch is right version to the right version.

Let us perform the following steps, that may resolve the issue. Launch the game, when nothing happens, continue with the following steps:
1 press ctrl alt delete on the keyboard
2 click task manager button
3 check if you find F.E.A.R running under the applications tab
4 if you find it, then de-select it click the End task button
5 click the process tab
6 look for a program called mixer.exe, if you find it, de-select it
7click on the applications tab, look for a program called Getright, if you find it, de-select it, and click the End Task button
8 Disconnect from the internet and try the game
9 once in the game reconnect to the internet with out going out of the game. Not sure how YOU do it but either with ctrl alt delet and the game window gets smaller and then you can push the internet icon or however you do it. Then the game should work. If it does then you only have to click on the game next time and then click to go online NOT VISEVERSA.
