| After taking a bit of a break watching the Winter Olympics, mulling over whether to install patch 1.03, and seeking tech support for problems with the upgrade on my capture program, I finally picked up this project where I left off and finished it. Oddly enough part of the delay in posting this more recently was in having installed patch 1.03, engaged in numerous mp battles over a 3 day period, and assembled them into an entry for the Fileplanet contest. This is a fairly short level, but has intense moments of both stealth and open confrontation against man and machine. Part of what took a while completing this project was trying to go for as much visual effect as possible. In the end I chose many clips which were less visual, and more dependant on skill, thus there are many melee moves in it. For those that desire a more visually graphic look, I've made an outtake clip as well. There is also a short humor clip I could'nt resist after examining the clips closely. Mode is Extreme, level time 6:20, and no damage was taken. Music is Triad, by Tool, there is also a no music version. My contest entry promises to be much longer and more intense, but I hope you enjoy this for now. Lap Dog: Interval 09-With Music (87MB) Thwartin' Norton & the ATC! Lap Dog: Interval 09-No Music (87MB) Mapes' mouth & no music,...ARHHGG! Lap Dog Outtakes (22MB Putfile stream) Some Heads Are Gonna Roll! (By Judas Priest) Mean Pinball (2MB Putfile stream) Full tilt! The Fileplanet F.E.A.R. contest movie entries will be viewable on Fileplanet's F.E.A.R. forum Lost Contact April 28th-March 4th in a thread that will be devoted to that purpose. A free Fleplanet account will be needed to vote on the entries via email. Sorry if any of you find that inconvenient, but there will likely be some good videos to see. |

| OK, here's a little something to justify the bump. Someone new to F.E.A.R. over at the VU forum whom goes by the name JaiQwan discovered an interesting glitch in the Lap Dog level. I couldn't resist taking it another step and seeing if I could discover anything other than what he'd found. My first goal was to make it thru the gate without killing either guard. The second to find any AI oddities. The third part of the clip, well, that was just some horsing around. ![]() Lap Dog Gate Glitch (15MB Putfile stream) No Kill, No See Me, No Mercy! Oh,...almost forgot...please comment. |

Sorry to have not gotten back to you, about online play, but I DID engage in 3 solid days of battle over one weekend a couple weeks ago in making my movie for the Fileplanet FEAR map, movie & mod contest. I did mention it in the thread I posted displaying the Lap Dog Outtakes video though. The winners have been selected already, and I won one of the souvenier packs from the 2nd prize group, which contains a FEAR jacket, T shirt, and autographed copy of the game. There were 3 winners for each prize group, the top one being 7000 series Nvidia based cards. Rather than ranking each winner in each group 1st-3rd, and 4th-6th like they originally planned, they just called it two prize categories, so it's like tying for 2nd place. I don't know how many entries they looked at, but they did say some were DQed for breaking the rules, which were pretty strict reguarding the music. My video is 23 solid minutes of non stop mp action showing mostly DM and some TDM rounds. I managed to get some killing sprees and match wins despite being rusty at online play and trying FEAR mp for the 1st time. There is no music added to the contest version, but I just made a music added version that's bigger in viewing size too. I'm uploading it to my filepage as I type this. I will post both the contest version and the new music added version here as soon as it's uploaded. I will also provide a link to the winners list page, which has a link to a page where you can download them. There is often a queue waiting period at Fileplanet for free accounts, but I found the DL speeds are fast once you get started. Sorry about your patching problem, there is fairly good help over at the VU FEAR forum for such things. |
