Server disconnected for unknown reason

O.K. Im sure this is easy to solve and i'm just being an idiot.

Heres how it is; (lol hey wait isnt that the opening line for Firefly?)

I click join game. i pick a server I like. if have to DL a new map or mod then
I finish the DL, it sends me back to the main menu saying "server disconnected for unknown reason" I go back to look for the server I was just on and its still there. I play normally beat or loose the level, load the next map and it sends me back to the main menu saying "server disconnected for unknown reason" again. I look for the server again and its still there.

I looked in the console for any possible errors but i couldnt really tell anything it all looked fine (f coarse then again it mostly looks like giberish anyway.) so if osmeone oculd help me....well i might wanna say if anyone can even understand what im saying......This paragraph started out looking like a factor tree but i changesd it because it was getting too hard.

I hope someone can understand this and translate or more importantly help me with my problem.

I typed in the error in google and got 4 fixes for it: http://enemy-territory.4players.de:1...nnects+and+Lag

About the first fix. I recommend upgrading punkbuster with pbsetup. That can be found here. Delete your pb folder and then update with pbsetup.

"Server disconnected for unknown reason"

If you get this message after being kicked from a server (especially if after around 30 seconds to 2 minuites of joining it) then open the console (press the key under ESCape to toggle the console) and look in there for the root of the problem, usually somewhere near the bottom - use PgUp/PgDn or mouse scrollwheel to look through it (pressing Alt+End will jump back to the bottom of the console). Sometimes the reason is there, sometimes it might not be.

There is a bug in ET thats resulting in PB not being able to display the proper reason for kicking, which is frequently something simple like a cvar violation, or maybe problems with PB working properly or updating itself.

This problem is supposed to be fixed with the update to 2.60

Not much help but at least you know its not just you.

Re: Server disconnected for unknown reason

I am aware you looked in the console you said in your first post,
if you had read what I posted you would have seen

"There is a bug in ET thats resulting in PB not being able to display the proper reason for kicking"

Thats what I was pointing out, NOT to look in the console again.

Definately PB related.
Sometimes after awhile it will eventually update itself and work for you.
