I'm trying to start making a map for ET, I've already made a few for RTCW.
I go ahead and start putting some ideas together and building a few rooms, etc.
So, I go ahead and look for my "info_player_start" entity. I notice it's not there, so I make my team_CTF_redspawn and team_CTF_bluespawn entities guessing they will probably work themselves.
I go ahead and compile my map, it compiles fine.
Go ahead and load ET, sv_pure 0, g_gametype 2, blah blah blah.
I get an error message saying I have no spawn point.
NOW, what I do next causes my major problem:
I make a info_intermission entity, and rename the classtype to info_player_start!
Try to compile, and...
The entire program crashes, so I opened it up, tryed once more even using different compile options, and still nothing.
I JUST EVEN COPIED AND PASTED MY BRUSHES, INTO A NEW MAP FILE, and still nothing!
I just re-installed GTK Radient, and still crashes when I try to compile!

Entities
For ET mapping, there's two things we can have in our map... geometry, or brushes, which we've just made with our box, or entites. From the manual:
Entities are a broad category that not only includes simplistic editor representations of game play objects like weapons and ammo, but also includes diverse things like player start spots, and lights. Typically, they are displayed as brightly colored cubes...
For the most part, anything not a brush is an entity. To get the map running, we need a place for the map to start. This is called an info_player_deathmatch. To make entities, right click once in the main window. A menu will appear. Go to info then to info_player_deathmatch. A purple box will appear. Put this in the center of your box. You can just drag it in the main window. When it's in position, hit escape to deselct.
We need two more entities. team_ctf_redspawn and team_ctf_bluespawn. To get them, right click, go to team then team_ctf_redspawn. Place this in your box, then do the same for the team_ctf_bluespawn.

Thanks DragonFly.
I had just found hummer's thread right after I posted this, heh.
Except I've found a new problem.
The game crashes when I go into limbo.
I've tried doing the gamecoordinatemaxs and whatever, but it still crashes.
BTW, I had to compile my map using GTKRadiant 1.2.11's Q3Map2.exe compiler!
I used the compile settings for RTCW, and it still worked with ET!
Just was wondering if the crash might be related to that. Because GTKRadiant crashes when I use the other compile options. like BSP -meta, what hummer suggested for the first room.
I am having the same limbo crashing problem after i start a custom made map. I see this thread has died. But I see no one has replied. Just wondering if anyone found out anything.
You have to put in values for the mapcoordsmins and mapcoordsmaxs into the "worldspawn"-entitiy.
These values have to describe a square.
You can get these values by looking on the x / y - view.
mapcoordsmins = upper left corner
mapcoordsmaxs = lower right corner
So as an example:
key: mapcoordsmins
value: -512 512
