Default weapon replacemnt?

I know it's posible for quake 3 to make a model that replaces the current model of one of the exsiting weapons for the player that "installed" the "mini mod" in there base folder, is the same posible for Wolf ET (so say if one was inclined make the MP40 into a StG44, i ask because they run off the same eninge, and i've seen model replacements for JKA and it also runs of the Q3 eninge
