Oblivion Gate - I cant find the Stone

I found an Oblivion gate near Bruma near the Applesomething Farm. I been in it and killed everything, but i cant get to the Central Citadel. The only buildings are 2 seperate towers, where the route to one is guarded by a spinning eye that throws fireballs. I know that some bridge needs to be activated, but how do you do this? Are the towers involved?

the towers are nearly always involved, climb them and pull the switch, I think that would help

The first tower only has a switch to open the cage with the prisoner, who falls to his death The second has a Red heart container thingy, but no switch

go to the biggest tower that you see, it will have like a yellow line thingey at the top. thats the tower that you want to get into. then just go as high as you can and there will the the stone at the very top of the beam.

Yea i know that, just 1 problem, i cant actually get to it. I been from beginning to end of the area and there is no route to it. When i get to the final area, its just closed off. I tried jumping on the mountain side etc but i just cant get there, its really bugging me now.

In one of the smaller towers their will be a guard in a cage, kill the dremora(sp?) near him and he will have a key which unlocks a bridge leading from that tower to the large one. Use the map alot cos its tough to find your way in the darkness of those towers. Hope that helps

Alright, you should pay alot of attention to what I'm going to say.

Each Oblivion gate haves a unique inside, which means that sometimes you can directly move to the main tower (The largest tower, you got to see which but I think you fill find out easily.) or sometimes you have to walk through other towers to let up gates, or walk on some of the bridges that link themselves to the large tower.
Or sometimes you even have to cross a huge Oblivion cavern before you can reach any of the towers.

But what's even more anyoing, is that there are 2 set's of 2 gates that are linked with EACHOTHER.
Which means that 2 Oblivion Portals will teleport you to the same realm part from Oblivion, though when you take the Sigil Stone, only one gate should dissapear.
I couldn't find any way how to close the other one, but anyway, there are like 2 or 3 of those double gates so you should watch out.

Well, when you entered the main tower, you have to get as high as possible.
To gain time, you can use the noclip cheat to fly to the top door and you only have to get up a bit.
Or you can do it without, but it does take a bit longer (it's not so hard though).

When you got up at the farmost in the tower, you will really see what I mean. You will then have to take the Sigil Stone, which is 2 of those ugly Oblivion Realm stairs higher.
Then you can shut it down.

NOTE!: There are one or two tricky gates that have 2 large towers in them instead of just one, when you enter the large tower that will send a glowing stream to the top it will be the right one!

Alright, I hoped this informed people of what they could suspect, just remember that every gate is different and probally it will looke like a huge maze, but it's not so very hard to complete either.

Hmm... The tower that the guy who falls down from the cage is in... Is there a large mechanism next to the switch? If there is, go to the OTHER side of the mechanism. There should be another switch which, when pulled, opens a large Oblivion Gate (I mean like a seige gate/wall thing (forgot name), not the kind which you use to get to Oblivion).

Another possibility is that you have to go through some Oblivion Caverns to get to the other side. If that's the case, then I suggest you enchant a helmet with a night eye. Otherwise it'll be impossible to see where you're going, and you might fall into a hole filled with lava.

*double edit* The cave should be marked on either your mini-map (in the menu, NOT the Main Cyrodiil map) or on your compass at the bottom of the screen.
