Default weird crashing...disabled my card!!

ok so while i loaded oblivion(original DVD with beta patch installed) and loaded an autosave game first thing i did was to press TAB.
The game froze(first time ever). The sound froze(all i was listening was a repeating tone). My keyboard froze(all lights could not be turned on or off).
I pressed the reset button...i got a screen asking me whether i want to start windows normally or enter safe mode or restore last known(...something).
I chose to load windows normally, saw the start up windows logo and right before desktop my PC crashes again!!! I reset again and then enter safe mode. This time i reach at desktop where i get a message that tells me the there was a serious error about my graph card(6600gt,128mb) drivers. I uninstalled them and rebooted again .Then i started installing them again (nvidia 84.21 version) but when it had to restart windows so that the installation completes my pc crashed again. So now i can only enter safe mode!!!
Is there a chance my card is damaged?
I have WinXp,sp2
p4 3400 Ghz
1 Gb RAM
gf 6600GT,128mb(slighty OC)
I have no MODS installed on OBLIVION

Most likely it is the beta patch,so you may want to remove it.Also i got the PC version of oblivion today and for some reason the game won't play!Whenever i open it the game just says it encountered an error and needs to close. Please help!

My system specs are
Nvidia Geforce4 MX 440 with AGP8X
512 MB of system RAM
Windows XP
2.80 Ghz Intel pentium 4

Cloud rulez, you need a new and better video card. I think that's why your game won't play.
