Dismemberment!!!!
 

Hey everybody! Oblivion is so Cool, but it has one serious flaw, NO DISMEMBERMENT!!!!:mad: I´ve read lot´s of articles that says it can´t be done, and searched the whole web, but no luck. It MUST be possible(I mean, in terms of the engine), for one simple reason... SKELETONS DISMEMBER!!!! There must be a way to make other characters crumble in pieces as they do. If anyone knows of a source for this kind of mod, or thinks he can find out by himself... ¡OUR HERO! Please answear this thread cause I know a lot of people must be desperate for a mod like this. Thanks. :cya:

Well if a person is hit by an arrow that means they would fall into 20 pieces, and if they got slashed in the head their arm and leg would fall off too?

I really don´t think they´ll dismember when hit by arrows, for one simple reason... SKELETONS DON´T DISMEMBER WHEN THEY GET HIT BY ARROWS. ONLY BY MELEE WEAPONS. The must have diferent behavior sets pre-established. Just like u don´t get dismembered when shot by a blaster in Jedi Academy.

yeah it sounds fun but it isn't necesarry because it is fun when a skeleton falls into 20 pieces when it gets hit by an arrow.

People have created dismemberment, I think, it's just that no one has made it into a thing that regularly happens in Oblivion yet, instead of a heavily scripted/modded event with a single NPC.

What they have is realistic. Take a sword. whack yourself, or a willing friend with it. You'll get a bruise and, possibly a cut. Even without armour, it would take a ridiculously sharp blade, a heavy weapon, and god-like force. Put armour on and it's almost impossible. You can't say "realistic dismemberment". It's not.

On-topic: Of course it's possible. The only problem is figuring out how. From what I've seen and heard, it looks like a script. You need to figure out how to apply that script (or those scripts) to hundreds of NPCs.

Any idea where can I find that script?

Hit a friend witha katana and see what happens

it probably WONT give u a bruise

Other then a relativly sharp katana all you would usually get is bacically a bruise

i ahve no clue if it's possible however

when u kill a skeleton it dismembers

is there anyway u could modify it to dismember based on teh location of where it was hit? Could it thne be possible to take the modified skeleton skeletons or whatever and apply them to the rest of the people shaped things in oblivion.

That's my point. You still have two feet. It is just very, very, very highly unlikely that you'd be able to chop someone's limb off as easy as everyone makes it seem.

ok guys, i took Kendo classes for 12 years, thats Japanese sword fighting, i also took private Ninjitsu classes for 10 years, so trust me when i say. YES its easy to cut some ones arm off, leg off, and if you hit it right the head aswell, its not about the shapness of the blade, its all in where you hit them and how hard, but a sharp blade helps :p

Hello guys... BACK TO THE POINT!!! We need to find a way to get dismemberment IN-GAME
