Twisted Metal Black Is anyone here excited about this game? I plan on picking up a copy tomorrow. I think it's going to be HUGE... |
I actually kind of burned out on Twisted Metal back on the PlayStation, but after seeing this game running at E3 I'm sure to at least give it a rental...it was gorgeous and judging from fan response, I think you're right - it'll be big. ------------------ Kevin, the erstwhile "Hi-Fi" www.videowrestling.com |
Yeah! I'm about to call around and see who got it in (along with Sonic 2). The last Twisted Metal game I played was 2, and that was years and years ago. More recently I had Vigilante 8 for N64, which was fun for awhile but the crap level design (and graphics) just really brought it down. IGN gave TM:B a glowing review, and it sounds really kick ass. The original team is back (which is really what was needed, I hear 3 and 4 were absolute crap done by 989 Studios no less...who didn't see that coming?) and it looks like they have given the genre a much needed kick in the pants It'll be my first PS2 game to buy...and I've had the overgrown paper weight for 3 months. GO SONY! hehe. Lord knows they need some good games to be released. Devil May Cry isn't set for awhile right? Like November?m Grrr. --Nick ------------------ --Life is full of tasks to be completed, but right now I am so far behind I will never die From where I'm standing, it's just SSDD. |
Arg! No one got Twisted Metal or Sonic 2 in today. Man I really wanted it today. No matter how many times this happens it alwys bugs the hell out of me. Now I have to wait another day http://www.veforums.com/frown.gif. Oh and videogames.com gave TW:B a 9.6 (then again I don't put much credit behind vg.com...never liked them). --Nick |
Same here... I called EB and they told me they won't have it until Wednesday. Same goes for SA2. TM:B is only going to be the 2nd game that I have bought for my PS2 - and I have had the damn thing since early December. When I get my hands on Silent Hill 2 though, all will be forgiven. |
Mmmmm...Silent Hill 2. Curse you, Waka!!! ------------------ Kevin, the erstwhile "Hi-Fi" www.videowrestling.com |
Did anyone else see the Sonic Adventure 2 commercial? It was kind of cool/surprising/nostalgic to see a commercial for a Dreamcast game. Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. Sonic is the only "mascot game" I still enjoy playing. I don't know why Sonic just seems cooler, but the games are. |
A dreamcast ad? Where!? I've always had a special place in me for Sonic (I remember seeing the Sonic 1 ads...after that I HAD to have a Genesis). Man those were the days, when SEGA seemed to come out of nowhere and took a large bite out of Nintendos market. Anyway, Sonic 2 is suppost to be really good, better than the first which I am excited to hear. I liked the first game quite a bit, but there was a lot wrong with it. How GF gave it a 100 I have no clue of though. I thought Big the Cats section was a total waste of time, and nI though Knuckles levels got annoying really fast. The best levels were with sonic, but once you got going, the level was over. It should be noted though that (I think anyway)the graphics still stand tall even today with the *God in a box* PS2 out. --Nick |
Yeah the commercial was pretty funny. It had some scientists talking about good hedgehogs and bad hedgehogs. I agree about Sonic Adventure though. Sonic should be about speed not fishing. Playing his levels are like being on a rollercoaster that you can control. Sonic team owns my soul! |
Just called 3 stores. EBX was busy, Planet X only got in Sonic 2, andn Gamestop got them both. I have to hit Gamestop before they sell out of twisted metal! I couldn't sleep last night. I'm such a dork. --Nick ------------------ --Life is full of tasks to be completed, but right now I am so far behind I will never die From where I'm standing, it's just SSDD. |
