So I was just curious to know what sort of music you all like to listen to. I expect that most of you are like me and your music choice varies by day, mood, setting, etc. but if you had to pick a the artists and genres you find yourself listening to most often when you have a choice, what would those be?
For myself, symphonic/gothic/European/folk metal is probably towards the top of the list. Some bands (in no particular order) include:
- Tristania
- Epica
- Xandria
- Leave's Eyes
- Elysion
- Nightwish
- Sirenia
- Evanescence
- Within Temptation
- Onyria
- Indica
- Angelzoom
- Eluveitie
- Rammstein
- Blutengel
Next on the list would be nonvocal music. I'm actually not sure what category this music falls under and I think different artists would fall under different categories, but here's a few examples:
- Koan
- Emancipator
- Apocolyptica
- Jeremy Soule
- Howard Shore
- Adrion Von Ziggler
- Hammock
- Audrey Fall
- Mortifer V.
- TheEnigmaTNG
Next in line would be more popular music, most if not all of which I believe is of American Origin. Examples include:
- Icon For Hire
- Paramore
- Nomy
- 30 Seconds From Mars
- The Offspring
- Five Finger Death Punch
- Rise Against
- Fallout Boy
- Panic! At the Disco
- Gorillaz
- Eminem
Oh, and game soundtracks. Lots of game soundtracks.
If you care enough, go ahead and list your favorites too!
Edit: One last thing - being an American I don't think I've met anyone who listens to or has even made mention of all but 1 or 2 of the bands listed under European. Am I just that strange or is it a culture thing?
