Default Hunger Games Catching Fire

This is the big release for this week, I'm not a big fan of these series but they have a good fan base and the first adaptation was successful. Will it repeat and exceed the performance of the first, or will they hit a stumbling block here? I get the impression that this set of teen-targeted books and adaptations are at a different, better level than the Twilight mess, so I guess it has that going for it.

Well, the movie seems to be doing well. Critical and viewer ratings are respectable and in the box office it got more than the first ($158 million v $152). It also broke a November record.

Weekend Report: 'Catching Fire' Burns Bright, Sets November Record - Box Office Mojo

Biggest release ever in November (though admittedly it's usually a slow month), and the six time largest release when placed among all movies, and third when factoring in 2D only releases.

I'll probably see it soon. I liked the first movie quite a bit, and apparently this one is leaps and bounds better.
