Ok, all I can say about the movie is.... May I call bullshit?

I mean, there were so many things wrong with 80% of anything scientific in that movie. Smoke stacks on a giant fucking ship? Wouldn't fission or fusion be better? Nothing clicked with reality.

So, what do you guys think, if anyone else has seen it yet.

Seeing as how it was by Roland Emmerich, I'm surprised that you expected ANY kind of logic in this at all.

StarGate was Emmerich's only good movie. Everything else he's done is mediocre, especially since he has used 4 of his films to f*ck up New York in the last decade.

The special effects were good, but only when they were on a very large scale. It was worth the money, but I don't want to go see it again.

Stargate was def the best, I liked ID, but, that's because I'm partial to large explosions.

The film started picking up when everything started getting destroyed, which was the later half of the film; anything before that was kinda a bore-fest . I donno if it was available in IMAX, but I wish I did watch it in that since the CGI scenes were pretty damn epic.

It was a good film.

Disaster movies in general are pretty bad. This one looks like the mother of all disaster films. I'll probably just see it for the fun aspect. i wonder how many disaster cliches this one has.

I'll see this movie in a few days, to see if it'll actually make sense to me and to see how realistic the graphics are. Not really excited though, I've read a lot of reviews saying that it's not that good.

I do agree that disaster movies are bad. They're either senseless or are just too unrealistic.

But, like most people have said, I don't know what you were expecting. This movie looked like crap through and through. The only reason I would go to see it is for the always necessary in a disaster movie destruction of national monuments and to laugh at how srs bsns it tries to be but fails at.
