| With WoW out and having over 11 million players worldwide I didnt think anyone was still palying dice and paper D&D. I used to play D&D but that was about 25 years ago. Now I play WoW. Lots quicker and efficient and I dont even have to leave home and the comfy chair.

| WOTC needs to release the sales figures for the three box set of dungeon masters guide, players manual, and monster manual that came out Februrary 2008. There were lines at book and game stores buying those sets. I waited an extra week, but still bought my set, and so did members of my playgroup. The number of players for PnP DnD may even dwarf WoW players. Certainly more than 11 million pencils and dice, and folk with imagination in the world.

| Even with the whole MMO phenomena, I believe there's still a lot of room for the paper and pencil. It has its own feel to it. It has more of a personal touch to it unlike a video game experience. I play MMOs and stuff, like Luminary and Atlantica but I'm always up for a classic campaign with my buddies when I can. |

| I love WoW but nothing is going to replace PnP RPG's for me. I like the fact that the classes and rules are fairly rigid. Most (read: all) MMO's out now are too busy catering to casual folks to be seriously involved into the various games lore. The need to 'balance' the classes in WoW is ultimately whats going to destroy that particular game. but thats for a different discussion.

| How can you compare WoW with D&D?! WoW is a piece of arcady crap with elf andsuch that look a lot different from the D&D (LOTR) ones. Pen and Paper role playing is more time consuming, a short battle can take an hour or more. Various aspects require a lot of time but the flexibility that it offers... it's simply endess. Though I haven't played D&D in nearly ten years or so. But I got font memories, that's for sure. Epic adventures, it doesn't come close to acady MMORPGs. The nearest thing would actually be a good old singple player RPG with an extensive story like various Bioware titles. |

| Got to admit, foot-long ears on elves does look more than a tad ridiculous. |

WOD is better, anyway. And P&P > digital. Always.
