and I just re-entered the series at the time-travel episode.
That, I think, has been the best episode yet. Whilst other episodes have touched on a fair bit of stuff, 'Time' was the sci-fi that we've lacked in Universe I think.
Bloody great show. I haven't really seen any of the other Star Gate series (except the 1994 movie which I can barely remember and a couple of episodes of SG-1 years ago) but this show is really good. Except I agree with what Warborg said about the last episode, it was fairly soapy. Besides that, really entertaining show. Also, Chloe is hawt.
Just out of curiosity what is everyone's opinion of SGU now that 10 episodes have aired?
There has been constant arguments on various Stargate afflicted sites between those who like SGU and those who think it sucks and killed the franchise. There is even a site dedicated to the cancellation of SGU with some of the most immature types of people you tend to see online.
In my opinion I can see it getting really good now, the latest episode 'Justice' was fab and the next episode looks to be even better.

SGU is a complicated one. It is sci-fi, but with that dark twist. I think, for the most part, the people who join these cancellation sites are the hardcore fans of SG1 and SGA. Both SG1 and SGA focused on gate travel, and mythology (especially SG1 in that regard). SGU has just been thrown out there, and whilst it involves the odd stargate scene, it isn't really stargate as we've come to know and love.
I'll admit, when I first heard the news, I was bitter. I didn't have time for the show. I felt that SGA had an early cancellation, and was ended prematurely. There was so much left to do with that show, they should have pushed for ten seasons like they did with SG1, and then maybe moved onto SGU. Another thing that separates SGU from the other shows, is the alien aspect. SG1 and SGA introduced aliens (Goa'uld and Wraith) in the first episode, following a nice big storyline about that foe at the end of the season. Other than that sand cloud thing, the only evidence of alien activity we've had is some small scout ship thing departing the Destiny whilst in FTL.
Hardcore fans are probably unhappy with that. For what it is worth, I've gotten into the show, and even whilst I think the communication stones shoud have been left out of SGU, I am going to be following the show through till the rest of the season, at the least.
Seriously its hard not to reply to the stupidity of some of the comments on that site. You would think that something as simple as not watching a show would be easy to do.

Yeah, we've got to wait until April. Too many shows have too large a break, especially between seasons. I'm all for having a break between seasons, actors and writers need a little time off, but breaking up an entire season is lame and stupid.
I've lost count the amount of times Heroes and Supernatural took breaks between episodes. Supernatural is currently on a 6-week break until the end of March. Sucks.
Anyway, the second half of SGU looks good, but I do hope they've not just put the best parts of the season in there. Whilst I've enjoyed some of the SGU episodes thus far, it hasn't struck me as brilliant. I'm hoping the second half of the season, and season two (if we get it) will pick up the pace a bit more, else I truly think the franchise will loose some fans.
