Re: Stargate Universe

I probably went in with to high expectations and so I was a little disappointed. It was good though, little slow paced but it looks like it will be getting right into it in part 3.

Spoiler:
I hope that flashbacks arnt a regular thing and were only used in the pilot to show the events that lead them to being on board the Destiny. I may be willing to put up with them again for the character backgrounds but no more than that.

I know that SGU is going to be more character based but I wouldn't mind if the action was increased a bit.

Darker can be good, BSG proved that but SGU has a lot of work to do to prove that it can make it work. I will admit that at the start of BSG I wasn't really into but it eventually lead to being one of the best sci-fi series I have ever watched. I hope that SGU can do the same for me.

I will hold off judgement until I see more episodes, there going off world in the next one and im interested to see how well they do with that.

I agree it seemed slow, but I think it will pick up. It was ok.

Re: Stargate Universe

It's meant to have less Sci Fi and more Drama as they attempt to survive in a galaxy a LONG way from home.

Spoiler:
I like how they only have a short period of time in each area before jumping to a new location, but will this mean that eventually we'll have teams mia?

Re: Stargate Universe

I actually enjoyed the first two episodes. Unlike SG-1 and Atlantis (where they're pretty much peaceful explorers) this show is going to be merely about survival. My only hope here, is that they don't have humanoid-looking aliens pop up here and there. The explanation for them in SG-1 and Atlantis was convenient, but there is no reason for them to be anywhere else out here.

Agreed. But it wouldn't surprise me if they did though.

Re: Stargate Universe

We can expect the aliens from the episodes of atlantis were the prometheus kept jumping from one universe to another.
It would be very odd for them to waste so much possible CGI content (models textures, makeup for the aliens etc)

Otherwise I'm not sure what to think about universe yet.
It's definitely strongly implied that it's darker - I don't think there was an explicit sex scene on SG before, plus the early deaths.

The characters at the same time just don't seem to be a mystery.

Spoiler:

I'd say for instance, that it's a given that Rush leaked the info, that he also withhold the information knowingly and that he knows a lot more than he's telling. And is going to be the good bad guy who does stuff mainly for his own agenda instead of anyone elses while claiming to be a nice guy

Also the amount of cheese they produced with the videogame problem hurts my brain.

Saw the Pilot.

Interested, but not hooked in just yet. I got distracted from the show a bit when it was on, really didn't like the jumpy flashbacks and the anticlimactic ending for the two-hour pilot was not making me really want to watch another episode, but I'll give it a few more episodes to determine if it is worth my time after that.

Daedalus kitty, not the Prometheus

Also, apparently SGU will have aliens, but they wont be like what we are used to. There wont be One Definite alien adversary.

I think you are wrong on the first point. Read up on the later stages of season 1, you'll find out why. ;)

I do agree with the rest though (even though he wouldn't have been the one to leak the location). He is going to be a good and bad guy throughout the show though, however I believe he has a single agenda, that being, to find a way to bring back his wife.

Makes sense if we've got a ship that jumps through various galaxies.. ;)

Spoiler:
So are the two people who went from "Sand Planet" through the gate to the "other planet" (1 of the 4) gone forever now???

The Ship went back to FTL so I assume those two are lost forever?
