Don't get me wrong. I love all things stargate, but admittedly, SGU has been kinda slow building.

Sometimes, a show needs to start off slow, to put everything in place.

Granted not true Blue, but not Grey either. A blend of the two I think?

Why from Earth you think? I'm willing to place money on the prospect that the Lucian Alliance manages to travel to the Destiny from another gate in the Milky Way, thats how they get there.

I also notice (from the video and picture) that them aliens don't appear to be holding any weapons of any sort. Maybe they are here for diplomacy?

When they come through the gate, the one up left of the person in focus has a gun.
And then again, the guy that Greer grabs while he's shooting his gun, looks very Earthy

Here. I outlined them with red lines so that you can see them better. The picture quality sucks but I couldn't be bothered to find a HD version of the SGU 1.5 trailer. :D

They look like P90's by the way. :D
If so, then yay!

Ahem, I wasn't actually on about that scene.. :lulz:

I was on about the CG aliens having no visible weaponry.

Admiral Antilles wasn't talking about the aliens having no visible weaponary in the first place. He was talking about the people in that picture I posted for you.

I really don't see why this is confusing you so much.

When I say 'aliens' I don't mean Humans from other planets. I mean alien-looking life forms. I've never been on about the human-aliens having weapons, but the non-human-aliens having weapons.

My initial point was, that these non-human aliens don't have weapons, yet seem to be coming through the Destiny gate, which may mean that they are on good terms with the crew or something..

I have watched my first episode last week. SGU is still a good show but not as good as Stargate SG1 or Stargate Atlantis.

Nothing is ever as good as the original.

And sorry Aerilon, I thought you meant the Humans :P

Ya, i noticed the same thing, but whose to say they need weapons? There Craniums are massive, whose to say they are telekinetic.

Remember that the new episode airs tonight at 9pm (8pm Central) on Syfy. There is also an SGU Marathon on throughout today.

Thanks for the remind, I forgot. I hope this half has more space battles, fighting and witty Greer.

Admiral Antilles April 2nd, 2010 11:52 AM

Re: Stargate Universe

Ya, I just got an email from MGM.

And I dont know if the Marathon is going to be on here in Canada.

Finally I can't stand the "lets show half" approach to shows these days :( This show is decent although very similar in style to BS:G :D

I'll admit, I completely forgot about this. Nice to know its back though, I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning. :D

OMG, is that who I think it is>? *from middleish of the episode*

All I can say, is wow...

Re: Stargate Universe

SGU is more like scrubs than Stargate. I hope they find a way to get back to Earth and use Destiny as a forward military base, that would be cool.

Believe me or not, but that's precisely what I fear. I hope they're going to loose all contact with Earth soon actually. To make them appear even more isolated and alone.

Tanith April 6th, 2010 05:27 AM

Re: Stargate Universe

Finding a way back to Earth was something I believe to of been a mistake in Atlantis, I seriously hope that it doesn't happen in SGU.

Flash525 April 6th, 2010 10:26 AM

Re: Stargate Universe

Losing the link with Earth only has so many advantages for a show. Look at ST: Voyager, by 'End Game' there shouldn't have been a crew left to get the ship back home; the Intrepid Class has a crew compliment of 100-200 or so? I don't remember the exact figures.

With the amount of battles they went into, and the amount of illnesses they picked up etc, for a seven-year arc, I'm amazed that there was anyone left to get the ship back home. With Atlantis, they managed to get some help through the gate when they needed it, the same could be done for Destiny, though that would be too much like Atlantis, and if they used the ship as a forward command base, that again, would be too much like SG-1.

I like how they're working at the moment, they just need to remember not to kill too many people off, else they'll have to explain the new faces.

I've known that for a while, the actress is 'there' in real life too, I read they were going to incorporate the situation into the actual storyline.

I liked the last episode, Rush and Young seem to have reached an understanding of sorts, and it was nice to see some of the crew getting to know nature; though I'm curious about whether we'll ever see any of the crew that stayed behind.
