No it's bond in the begining...rougher and more dirty and brutal. before he becomes elegant and smooth.
But the point is he had a career in the Royal Navy for years before becoming an MI5 agent. That's affirmed in many Bond films, and especially the books.
But not a mention of it for the Casino Royale film, because it wouldn't fit with the idea they wanted for Bond. So a big chunk of his life is completely omitted.
I thought Pierce Brosnan was an Excellent bond. He just had that look. I think Daniel craig doesn't have too much personnality, either that or he can't express emotion really well, mainly due to his facial structure.
hes not suppose to show alot of emotion, hes suppose to be a darker more serious bond just like bale in batman begins and dark knight.

Yeah, but that's not Bond. Certainly not the Bond of Connery or Moore or Brosnan, who were the Bonds of Fleming.
actually its the exact opposite, craig's version of bond is the real lan fleming bond, more serious and professional, instead of a womanizing sexy dinosaur as M called him in Goldeneye i think.
